It seems the fairer sex has taken to the fairer diet in greater numbers than their male counterparts. According to the data, a full 9% of women in the United States now identify as vegan, compared to a paltry 3% of men.

article sucks. None of this is "primal" or "innate", please read the feminist politics of meat. Also the numbers are wrong

According to the data, a full 9% of women in the United States now identify as vegan, compared to a paltry 3% of men.

linked article says:

Women are also more likely to be vegan, with 9% of women identifying as vegan compared to 3% of men

Links to https://faunalytics.org/ and not a specific study. Don't use garbage secondary sources for the entire basis of an article. These numbers are too high to be true. Note that, whatever study Faunalytics originally might have done, it was "identify as". People are notorious liars and will say shit like "I'm vegan except at restaurants". The gold standard is asking them like, are you vegan and specifically what did you eat for the last X meals.

I am a young vegan man in a city. Veganism skews young and left, so if these numbers were true I should be meeting a lot of vegan women. On dating apps, one in 30 or 50 profiles is vegan. This number is simply not true.
