It almost looks like his glasses are half full of water. I’ve never see bifocals that are 1/2-1/2 split like that although I don’t currently wear glasses so my experience is zero.
You can see that bifocal line from outer space.

yeah this is just incredibly aggressive and visible compared to any bifocals I've ever seen IRL lol
they used to be like that, so he may have worn the same pair for 20 years
