There’s an entire piece of at home technology that used to exist and tons of people used to have that I don’t think anybody under the age of 25 has ever actually seen: The VHS rewinder.
Wow yeah honestly I'm under 25 and I grew up with a VCR but I didn't have a VHS rewinder, we just rewound the tapes using the VCR itself. I was familiar with the rewinders existing but I don't think I've ever seen one in person.
I have one of those at home. It's strange that I'm a young millennial that grew up watching things on Laser Disc.
Basically I remember watching my first movies on only Laser Disc around the same time the Sopranos came out. That and VHS tapes. My father isn't going to get rid of something he bought brand new in the 80s. Still works fine along with his old speakers.
My folks have speakers from the 80s that still sound great today and they are LOUD. The loudest I've ever turned them up was halfway, and I had to leave the house because it was so loud.
When i was a wee lad I hid my weed in one. Successfully escaped the notice of a searching sherriff. Nobody checks the VHS rewinder.
checkout richie rich over here, has seen a VHS rewinder in real life
My family had one shaped like a little car
