Yeah they need that feeling of intellectual elevation at all costs, it's why they hate simplifying their pitch to the American public in any way even if it would win them popular support, and love to cite technicalities to shut down people's hopes for Dem leaders to do anything.

Somebody literally asks them to campaign at them and they roll their eyes and tell you to read their website because they love homework.

It's just terrible UX anyway, to link to the general website and not directly to your policy page.

It's terrible if you actually care about people looking at your policy page.

It's perfect if your goals is to make somebody scroll past a donation link to get to your policy page.
