This email kind of confirms the idea that liberalism is built upon nothing but liberals’ insatiable desire to feel intellectually and morally superior to everyone around them

[–] TemutheeChallahmet@hexbear.net 48 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

Yeah they need that feeling of intellectual elevation at all costs, it's why they hate simplifying their pitch to the American public in any way even if it would win them popular support, and love to cite technicalities to shut down people's hopes for Dem leaders to do anything.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 35 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Somebody literally asks them to campaign at them and they roll their eyes and tell you to read their website because they love homework.

[–] TemutheeChallahmet@hexbear.net 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It's just terrible UX anyway, to link to the general website and not directly to your policy page.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 2 points 4 months ago

It's terrible if you actually care about people looking at your policy page.

It's perfect if your goals is to make somebody scroll past a donation link to get to your policy page.

they were literally the grade school kids who would remind the teacher about assigning homework

gotta justify capitalism as meritocracy somehow

[–] yoink@hexbear.net 5 points 5 months ago

fascism does love in-group/out-group dynamics that are taken as self-evident

omg the list of accomplishments on their website 😂

Rallying the World in Support of Ukraine

Since the start of Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, President Biden has rallied the world to stand with Ukraine, defend democracy, and stand up to autocracy.

unprovoked

[–] emizeko@hexbear.net 31 points 5 months ago

didn't even call it full-scale!

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 26 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Ukraine was just sitting there, minding it's own business trying to genocide Russians and inviting hostile American bases and nuclear weapons inside when out of the blue Russia attacked them!

[–] Frank@hexbear.net 15 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The way most non-tankies cannot or refuse to understand spheres of influence, encirclement, what it means to have intermediate nuclear missiles along your borders, just staggers me. As long as it's their team westphalian sovereignty is inviolable.

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 13 points 5 months ago

They understand it when the other guys are doing it though. They understand that Russia flying planes right next to their airspace is a threat. They understand that China pushing out western capital in Africa is threat. They also understand that the USSR was threathening the evil empire by stationin nukes in Cuba, although they are militantly uncurious about what made the USSR and Cuba make that decision.

yeah my phone's been ringing non stop with all the podcasters trying to reach me

[–] Florn@hexbear.net 29 points 5 months ago

They talked a big game about parasocial relationships, but now that Biden lost they've shown that they really do want to be my friends.

Too late now!

[–] citrussy_capybara@hexbear.net 29 points 5 months ago

they crave context

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 56 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Lol are they actually mad they got ratio'd on Twitter by those podcast nerds?

[–] TemutheeChallahmet@hexbear.net 44 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Yeah either Obama or David Axelrod forced the Pod Jons to issue semi-apologies.

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 40 points 5 months ago

Cowards should've doubled down.

I guess all that sweet sweet neoliberal blood money's just too hard to kick

[–] MolotovHalfEmpty@hexbear.net 20 points 5 months ago

Doubt it was Axelrod. He was saying it was a disaster as a pundit immediately afterwards.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 50 points 5 months ago (2 children)

smuglord hey kid, don't trust your lying eyes or those of seemingly everyone around you

[–] pumpchilienthusiast@hexbear.net 28 points 5 months ago

this is our final, most essential command

[–] silent_water@hexbear.net 20 points 5 months ago

he did not have a stroke on stage and shit himself. he did not. he did not.

self-important Podcasters

Holy fuck lmao rent-free

[–] HumanBehaviorByBjork@hexbear.net 14 points 5 months ago (1 children)

they're not even talking about chapo-boys, they mean the Pod Johns, the most in-the-pocket blue boosters around.

[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 7 points 5 months ago (2 children)

What did the pod johns do that has them so salty I missed it

[–] Runcible@hexbear.net 11 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I believe one of them pointed out Biden was president now when he said that if he was re-elected he would reinstate roe v wade

[–] TemutheeChallahmet@hexbear.net 12 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

That was actually Pod Damn America's Jake Flores, the Pod John response was that Biden's debate performance was a "fucking disaster," which drew insane ire from their listeners and the staffers who feed them guests.

[–] TemutheeChallahmet@hexbear.net 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)
[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 7 points 5 months ago

Oof. Yeah they have lost the lanyards which is really something. Every single nyt article now just is filled with calls for his resignation. And all they're talking about is how the donors are reacting. Amazing really.

I do hope he drops if nothing else because this shit is just sad. Even trump feels bad for the guy. Watching them weekend at Bernie's this corpse for six months and then losing every single swing state will be devoid of all joy, not even schadenfreude.

[–] save_vs_death@hexbear.net 44 points 5 months ago

who would you believe, us, or your lying eyes

[–] MolotovHalfEmpty@hexbear.net 40 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Literally just hello citizen! Here are your government set talking points. Be sure to propagandize your friends and family! And remember: if they don't come around to them, they may be an undesirable or Russian stooge and it's your duty to report them (to Reddit).

[–] Krono 16 points 5 months ago

Sending the party-approved talking points directly to their bluemaga followers is a pretty good tactic, ngl

[–] banana_havoc@lemm.ee 40 points 5 months ago

This party has its head so far in the sand they can probably see the metropolis of the ancient mole civilization.

[–] nat_turner_overdrive@hexbear.net 33 points 5 months ago

hahaha

partiotism Delude yourself and delude everyone around you

[–] Black_Mald_Futures@hexbear.net 31 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Listing "panicked aunt, MAGA uncle" is subtle misogyny

[–] itappearsthat@hexbear.net 24 points 5 months ago (2 children)

eh maybe, men in the US being right wing is a real phenomenon. take a look at some electoral maps if only men voted. also on a personal level this is a thing my hetero women friends hate about dating.

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 16 points 5 months ago

I don't think that is just an American phenomenon, men tends to be more right-wing than women. Men are swine.

[–] Black_Mald_Futures@hexbear.net 13 points 5 months ago

"Panicked" is basically synonymous with hysterical. Just a bad look to lead off with "hysterical woman"

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 30 points 5 months ago

At some level you must admire these wankers' commitment to the bit. Genocide Joe is super-Jesus and if reality veers it's ugly head in there and tries to convince them otherwise then reality itself is wrong.

[–] wtypstanaccount04@hexbear.net 25 points 5 months ago

[–] M68040@hexbear.net 22 points 5 months ago

It's like they expect people to act like they want to win for them. The indifference and inflexibility are exasperating.

[–] betelgeuse@hexbear.net 20 points 5 months ago

Uh oh your astute observations just got 5 pinocchios!
