As much as any sane stretching is.

But imho a lot of New Age or mystical orientalist beliefs tend to gravitate around it.

And (still anecdotal evidence) people who are "super into yoga" tend to adhere more to said bs beliefs.

Yoga isn't just stretching; that's only like a third of it. A proper routine includes full body exercise, balance training, and stretching.
