Dear transfemmes,

What's it like not having to shave anymore? Do you even think about it anymore? Is it great?

I've never loved shaving, but recently it's become very emotionally difficult for me. Please give me something to look forward to

I'm 2 years in and I still have to shave, but it's significantly less often than it used to be. I shave twice a week instead of like twice a day. Mind you laser hair removal kinda helped with this.

HRT. I'm about 20 months into laser, but I've missed the last 4.5 months due to surgery and surgery prep.

And you still have to shave? desolate

Please tell me the hair is super thin and it's really easy

[–] SnowySkyes@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Both really thin and hard to notice unless I really let it go. It takes about 3 days to be noticeable which is why I only shave twice a week.

As a note, I had a really thick beard prior to HRT/laser hair removal. I also, by my estimation, had a super high testosterone baseline (never had it done, but it took a lot to get it negligible and I had a very high T count after 3 months of spiro). So when it boils down to it, your experience may be wildly different from mine.

Maybe. I never checked my T, but I've got a power beard. We're probably in the same boat but I'm also not on HRT

I wish you the best of luck then. While it's not gone for me, it is very manageable as noted. You'll get there yourself one day.

it's so nice. I stopped electrolysis a bit early because I was so tired of it, so I have a bit of hair I have to shave every few days. going from every day to that is such a relief. it's basically just on my neck too, so I don't have to worry about any irritation on my face from shaving
