Oh so we're already doing boomer memes huh

[–] alamani@lemmy.fmhy.ml 15 points 1 year ago

I've seen so many boomer memes on lemmy, it's surreal

[–] CorruptBuddha@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

God I hope you're 13 if you're throwing 'boomer' around 😂

[–] Minzert@lemmy.fmhy.ml 4 points 1 year ago
[–] SilentStorms@lemmy.fmhy.ml 50 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh good, more Facebook memes.

[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Where did you think most cat memes came from?

[–] SilentStorms@lemmy.fmhy.ml 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Oh wow, I haven’t been on 4chan in a while.

Meat eaters all have the same 3 jokes and they're all retarded. Embrace the possibility of not having a permanently soft dick and start eating plants.

[–] 0x4E4F@lemmy.fmhy.ml 23 points 1 year ago (2 children)

But... we do eat plants...

[–] BassaForte@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Hell yeah, salad is a great side dish for steak.

[–] KnowledgeableNip@reddthat.com 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yup, that's one of the three jokes, you got it bud

[–] BassaForte@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's literally not a joke though, but I mean feel free to keep getting offended that people enjoy meat.

[–] swan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Fr what’s with all the vegan pushing on this website lol. It’s like trying to push your religion on someone, Just let them live their life and focus on yourself

[–] BassaForte@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Well said, 100%

[–] 0x4E4F@lemmy.fmhy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

Exactly 👍.

[–] alcamtar@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We just use animals to pre-process our plants

[–] 0x4E4F@lemmy.fmhy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Good one 🤣.

[–] DrZaious@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I'm enlightened, I eat both meat and plants.

[–] CorruptBuddha@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 year ago

Can this power be taught?

[–] Robbsen1@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 year ago

So brave 👏

[–] CorruptBuddha@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 year ago

Keto jacked my libido thank you very much! I could probably murder an elk with my dick.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Embrace the possibility of not having a permanently soft dick and start eating plants.

I exclusively eat meat and I suffer from priapism. So ha! 😤

[–] Gorvin@lemm.ee 17 points 1 year ago (4 children)

If we're not supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of food?

[–] DarthFrodo@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

  • Cannibals, probably

Hey its not my fault that neck veins taste good.

[–] norawibb@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

[–] spicysoup@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

what's it like being an actual bumper sticker from a gas station?

[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

To tempt us?

[–] MyDearWatson616@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

The cat doesn't speak.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 14 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I had a plant based chicken nuggets alternative that tasted perfect; but had the texture of wadded up paper. 🤢

[–] 0x4E4F@lemmy.fmhy.ml 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

See this is what I don't get about vegans or vegeterians. They buy these products that all resemble meat products in one way or another, but then complain if you eat meat 🤔. Apparently, they like to eat meat as well, they just wanna be posh about it.

[–] KnowledgeableNip@reddthat.com 19 points 1 year ago (2 children)

The plant-based product is more environmentally friendly and doesn't kill an animal.

I don't know how that's hard to grasp, good luck out there friend.

[–] alcamtar@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The animal wouldn't be alive in the first place if we weren't intending to eat it

[–] KnowledgeableNip@reddthat.com 6 points 1 year ago

That's sort of the point.

Instead of water, land and resource use growing corn and soybeans and supplements to raise a calf to slaughter weight, just eat the vegetables.

One of the most environmentally friendly things you can do.

[–] 0x4E4F@lemmy.fmhy.ml 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

Hard to grasp as in, you're against animal cruelty, but still, you'd like to eat products that resemble meat... that's like me giving up sex with real people, but I decide just to use fuck dolls... am I really not having sex? Have you seen how lifelike some of these dolls can be?

[–] CorruptBuddha@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hard to grasp as in, you're against animal cruelty, but still, you'd like to eat products that resemble meat.

This seems pretty simple to me, plant based alternatives looking like meat doesn't make them equitable to animal cruelty.

[–] 0x4E4F@lemmy.fmhy.ml 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

It's the pretend part that's confusing to me. Why actually eat something shaped and tasting like what carnivores eat. Why does it have to resemble meat products? You obviously don't like hurting animals, why pretend that an animal died to serve you this meal.

A vegan earlier explained it to me that these are mostly things that vegans would eat at carnivore social events, like barbecues, in which case, yes, it does make sense.

[–] CorruptBuddha@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago

Do you not get cravings for food?

Eating is enjoyable, and to eat different foods is a different experience. Different smells, tastes, textures. Some people enjoy the experience of eating meat, they enjoy the taste, the texture. When they quit eating meat for ethical issues they still remember that they enjoyed meat.

So if you enjoy eating meat and only stopped due to the ethical issues, why wouldn't you create a substitute?

It's like a lesbian! Just because you aren't attracted to a man, or don't want to be with one, doesn't mean you can't enjoy a dildo.

[–] TheGoldenGod@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Did you get them from Trader Joe’s or Sprouts? If so, I know which ones you’re talking about.

[–] Rachelhazideas@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

What's with all the memes shitting on vegetarianism? I'm a meat eater, but I feel like Lemmy has just been swarmed with edgy 14 year old redditors who thrive on jokes about 'vegetarianism bad meat good'.

[–] Tavarin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

There's also a ton of memes on Lemmy shitting on eating meat. This seems to be a response to that.

[–] captainkaladin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I think it's just a "what goes around " thing

People don't really have problems with vegetarians.. they tend to be regular people, not trying to stir shit up.. The nut jobs are vegans..

[–] OberonSwanson@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

I like how an old ass meme turned into people saying the OP’s posting meat propaganda. It was posted during a cat meme phase here and now people come out turning a molehill into a mountain. Hate it for the fact it has the Real Housewives not because you think it’s imaginary propaganda ffs lol.

[–] BonfireOvDreams@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Carnist and carnist apologists should just go back to reddit.

They don't apply concepts like consent or bodily autonomy to conscious beings of their own will. In addition, they do far more damage to the planet and it's inhabitants including humans.

If you want to learn about Veganism or have a good faith discussion about the moral baseline, stick around but otherwise just gtfo.

[–] OberonSwanson@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago

It’s an old wordplay meme. It’s not meat propaganda. Breathe it’s gonna be okay.
