To be fair, it's the only Zelda I never beat because of the Water Temple. I did the keys in the wrong order and apparently it's solvable but after a week of trying 14-year-old me gave up and gave the game away.
Damn. It's the only Zelda title I've beaten because... I'm not good at finishing games. With our powers combined, we're one competent Zelda enjoyer
I had a plaintext guide from gamefaqs that I printed at a friend's house because we didn't have internet lmao.
Got me thru it but I have no idea how.
This was literally wind.waker for me hah. Printed the GameFAQs walkthrough, brought it to a buddy's, and muddled through it.
The hardest part of the Water Temple is that one of the keys is hidden way better than the others, and if you start opening doors in the wrong direction you will run out of keys without it. Combine that with the clunkiness of swapping to/from the Iron Boots and raising/lowering the water level, and the place quickly grew tedious and frustrating.
The 3DS remake added an extra camera sweep and some decor highlighting the hidden passage where that key is found.
That and the 3DS made it so equipping and unequipping the Iron Boots was far easier.
Genuinely worried about MrDangles now.
