I remember editing a config file to change some of the parameters like destruction radius on the different weapons when this was the PC demo released before the game.
Modding game demos was such a fun and strange time in gaming.
Halo CE demo with the multiplayer lasted until i left school it went on for so long. Probably the goat of all demos. Medal of honor allied assault demo had a solid multiplayer as well
There was one summer I hung out in the Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 for Windows demo. The support for the servers ended but the demo server lived on until at least like 2005 or so iirc, I think I was a junior in high school.
I think my cousin had this on ps2, I remember thinking it was a pretty cool gimmick how you could blast holes in things. Pretty impressive for back when.
