I use it to keep me from hard opiates, it's a light weak opiate pretty much

Was up until a couple months ago. 6-12grams 2x daily of Red Borneo. Bought in bulk and filled my own 000 capsules.

I used to use hard/IV opiates. 10+ years. I switched to good old doctor prescribed oxy’s right around the time heroin turned in to fent.

Long story, but I ended up clean, then ended up using kratom a few years later. I don’t think I was hooked on kratom, because I sure as fuck was hooked on needles and never got the urge for kratom like I got the urge for h.

But I did suffer withdrawals from kratom when I quit using it. Pretty fucking rough wd’s too. Definitely not heroin withdrawal levels but absolutely noticeable. If I skipped my afternoon dose I’d have really bad restless legs that evening. Yawns, zero energy, body aches, diarrhea, a fucking flu that would disappear when I’d pop some kratom.

At some point I started feeling that shit was gonna get worse if I didn’t do something sooner rather than later so I quit using it. Spent almost a week withdrawing then another half week getting over stomach issues related to it. I’m 45, I have teenagers, and I’ve been a fuck up my entire adolescent life and a fairly large bit of my adult life. I can’t go down that road again.

Every day for like 10 years now (with a few intentional and unintentional short breaks now and then), also to avoid opiates. I love that it has a ceiling, in all that time of using it my usage hasn't risen at all. It's also super functional, and the different strains allow me to tailor my usage to whether I want to be productive or to relax.

Talked to a few people in rehab who've used it and it seems pretty harmless. Kind of bullshit it's a schedule drug, I think?

It's only illegal in a handful of states and cities, have to assume that Purdue lobbyists have gotten worried it might impact profit margins.

Scheduled in some areas kind of like weed is. If it keeps people from doing fentanyl. I don't see why they don't allow it.

Maybe letting people use the safer alternative means they can't fearmonger about fentanyl killing a trillion people per month

I've tried it, but I never noticed any buzz. Probably for the best.

Yeah and it's great, I'm always delighted when I remember it's a kratom day. Never used any other opiates

Yeah, I've used it before, for much the same reasons as you. It's pretty neat.

I slip too easy though, I guess

I've only experienced one variety, and it was probably the wrong one for me (plus I think I kept fucking up the tea toward the end) but my overall experience was positive. I'm keen on trying a variety that's right for me but I've been nervous to order another pack because of the grey market situation.

I use it on the weekends, and sometimes after work. At first to see if it would help with anxiety and job related pain , then a few days after trying it I noticed it killed my desire for alcohol and I kept using it 3 days on, 4 days off type thing. 2.5-3grams a couple times a day. Eventually I quit alcohol entirely. Whatever is in it helps me focus on tasks, too. If I'm mentally and physically exhausted from work, taking a dose when I get home will help me relax and focus on doing things besides being completely worn out.
