Yeah i can’t wait to get locked in a robotesla screaming along at 120mph being gassed with antibacterial spray.

On second thought, pass.

Remember that scene in Silicon Valley when Gabe gets trapped in the self-driving car that drives him onto a cargo ship destined for China? That's an actual possibility now!

Except now, he would also be clean.

Which will promptly malfunction and sanitize passengers.

And it won't work. Taxis don't need to be disinfected every hour. They need a person to check them so no one leaves something sticky on the seat / floor that can't be seen by the camera.

Self-driving taxis are going to be as clean as the bus because people are going to break the rules. A camera is not good enough to actually see what is happening in the car.

But don't you want that puddle of vomit to be sanitised vomit instead of filthy vomit?

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Are…. Are those my only two options…. ? Id really prefer the no vomit option, if available

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 4 months ago

Now with TeslaNose. Not only will the vehicle fix things found by camera, it will also fix things smelled by its new artificial nose!

UV light doesn't work on sanitizing surfaces from viruses and bacteria?

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 0 points 4 months ago

I find it hard to believe every sticky smelly taxi I’ve been in is sanitized hourly, maybe not even daily.

Except for congestion periods, you should be able to reject it and get another

A bus gets cleaned every day

I feel like I've seen this in more than one sci-fi show...
