Many saying "how can she, let him grieve" vs "some don't attach"...

Third option... They recognize love doesn't diminish if there happens to be another, and she wants him to have someone to help him through grieving.

I have 2 partners, and if I knew I was dying I'd want both of them to find someone I trust will care for them.

One of the nice things about the internet is that people are able to peer-peer share life experiences that vary so completely from one another. Polygamy for me is something I know wouldn't work, but I value hearing the experiences of those for whom it does, and a lot of the lessons (a key one being recognising jealousy within yourself early) they have to teach.

You spelled "lovely" wrong

That is fair.

How is it lovely? She is trying to replace herself. At least let the husband morn for a while.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 6 points 11 months ago

No, she is not, she knows he will stay with her to the end of her life, but his life will carry on, she has helped him find a partner to share the grief and ease the feeling of pain from the loss.

This is increadibly sweet and thoughtful.

Nonsense.

My wife is smart and funny and nice and beautiful. Our marriage is great, but life is short, and she deserves happiness once I'm gone.

"Til death" means you part then. It's all good.

I can't imagine ever agreeing to that. If my wife were dying I would be crushed. The light of my life would be extinguished. I wouldn't want anything other than to spend her remaining time with her, and I would not even consider dating again after she was gone.

Some people get attached, some completely don't. And one of the groups isn't able to comprehend the other.

Intense. Carolyn was a very self aware and smart person

Ohhh great tinder Bio play.

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Wish my wife was half that cool.

[–] blindbunny@lemmy.ml -3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Then why did you marry her? 🤨

[–] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

My wife is the best. It was a joke. She allows me to have one every once in awhile, as a treat.

[–] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

Ahh right on sorry I missed that. I just seen another "wife bad" boomer comment.
