position as VP for some ungodly reason.

But hey at least we'll have a competent girlboss as manager of the imperial decline and ongoing war(s) in Ukraine, Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Iran (soon), China (soon), Russia (watch this space).

Remembering things that happened more than 1 news cycle ago is far beyond liberals

They already forgot about Trump almost getting his dome blown off lol

[–] coeliacmccarthy@hexbear.net 35 points 2 months ago

It’s easy to see this when it’s losers on the internet but I met up with some old friends a few weeks back and we got to talking about politics. I mentioned how I wasn’t voting for Biden, and rattled off a list of heinous things he did, and they remembered (or never heard of) any of it! It really took me aback honestly, I thought they would have paid some more attention.

"Putin wants to recreate the Russian Empire. Any talk about a century of western aggression towards Russia is just evidence that he lost his mind."

I don’t think they’re reacting to Kamala herself, they’re reacting to the yas slay qween coconut girlboss meme version of her. It’s like an even more distilled version of Dark Brandon; whereas that was presented as “the sundowning old man routine is him hiding his power levels,” this is the brunch crowd purely projecting what their ideal strong female candidate is like onto a tabla blanca.

Yeah it's the same blank slate projection the chuds do with Trump, so that's how we get portraits drawn of him on a motorcycle.

All I'm saying is why doesn't Sam Seder marry Tim Walz if he loves him so much

This is just what partisanship looks like. The individual doesn’t matter, you boost whoever the party chooses because the party says so. Sometimes it’s embarrassing, like when you have to defend Joe Biden’s dementia one day and then immediately switch to being excited about his replacement the moment he drops out, but that’s the game. They know she was an unpopular and unlikeable candidate with poor judgement and worse leadership in the 2020 primary, and they’d probably have preferred Biden had stepped aside a year ago so the party could have had a real primary. That doesn’t mean they’re going to express any shame or doubt, now or ever.

For a lot of people, electoral politics is very literally a spectator sport.

how many lifetime presidential primary votes does she have?

[–] axont@hexbear.net 24 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

She withdrew before the first 2020 primary started, but was apparently still on some ballots. She got 129 votes in New Hampshire and 715 in Arkansas for a total of 844.

For comparison, Marianne Williamson also dropped out before the primaries started and got 22,334 votes.

It's amazing how the media is like "this is your candidate" and the american people with goldfish memory are like i-made-this

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 18 points 2 months ago

Same with Biden stepping down.

He's doing so much by not tanking the party. So selfless 🤢🤮

Man, we’re involved in so many cool projects, truly exemplifying the can do, type A attitude of a country that is destined to be run by a girl boss.

Hope we can squeeze in some gym time between Yemen and Syria

Tap the brakes then resume the cruise control vs petal to the metal...

Guess I'll vote for brunch and mimosas... yes-honey-left

The expiration date on rights that should be a given will switch from February 2025 to TBD (still soon tho). Meanwhile they hand out bombs like candy to Palestinian children.

Liberals are white supremacists too.
