Testing of a Ukrainian jet-missile drone πŸš€

https://t.me/Crimeanwind/66092

Zelensky has revealed a number of details about the Palyanitsya drone-rocket project, which he announced today during his speech on the Maidan

"The missile program of Ukraine includes a project called "Palyanytsya". The project currently includes three products: the test of the first element was positive. I congratulated our country on this," Zelensky said during a press briefing.

"This is a drone missile, which is much faster than our long-range drones. And more powerful. These are all the details about which I am ready for an open conversation," Zelensky added.

"The main thing is that people work. 24/7. They promised long-range drones - they did it. 1,500 km. And that's a lot. And now drone-rockets are appearing. And there will be other rockets. Very powerful. And very long-range," he noted.

During the two and a half years of full-scale war, Russia fired about 10,000 missiles of various types and more than 33,000 anti-aircraft missiles at Ukraine. Attacks on our cities can be stopped by strikes on the carriers of these weapons - Russian planes at military airfields.Β

Yesterday, the first successful combat use of our new weapon took place - the Ukrainian long-range missile-drone "Palyanytsia". Developed in-house to destroy the offensive potential of the enemy.

There will be more missile drones, just as our long-range strike drones have increased, the results of which we see almost every day.

1.500 km... moscow is only 800 km distance from Ukraine.

That will make the ruzzki air defence really have to work. They will see for themselves what Ukraine already has suffered from air strikes.

Good. Make them hate the war they started.

If they gain height and at destination dive on target it will be increasingly difficult to take them down. And even if you do, debris will continue trajectory towards target.

Send a hundred at Moscow all dialed on the MoD.

Woah that looks cool af!!! What's the difference between this and a cruise missile though? Longer range but slow because of increased lift due to the wings?

They call it a drone missile.

Probably needs some manual piloting.

Remote pilot guidance?

But a cruise missile that can change direction, maybe even hit moving targets.

[–] RunawayFixer@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Some cruise missiles are able to do all those, like the tomahawk missile fe: https://www.naval-technology.com/projects/tomahawk-long-range-cruise-missile/

To me, this drone missile looks like a smaller, much cheaper version of the traditional cruise missile. Cheap to build (relatively), easy to transport, fast to launch, hard to intercept: scary times for Russia.

Probably has less self guidance and with cameras you can do last minute adjustments to pick things like real airplanes on air field vs decoys.

What’s the range of one of these puppies?

Funny to see that after all this time we're back to V1's and V2's i(skander) but this time with gps. (or glonass)

A rocket powered ballistic missile is really pretty different from a jet powered cruise missile/drone thing

You know that the V1 was essentially a (very inaccurate) pulse-jet powered cruise missile, right?
