I think I'll always enjoy amogus shenanigans, even the utterance of the in-game slang, long after that game fades from public awareness. I can't even fully explain it, it presses fun buttons for me.

I feel the same way about astronaut-2 astronaut-1 though it may be because the concept is so strange and so specific yet is also so applicable.

Showing my age, I still remember this one fondly, even if it's older than a lot of people posting on this site, right now.

I feel like before you went on your grand adventure, we had a thread where we both expressed how highly we rate the amogus line delivery in Max0r's MGR video, but the best part of that video is the chapter before the Armstrong fight where there's about 15 elite jokes in a minute.

I similarly spend way too much time quoting the Formula 1 recap shitposts by Alphamaxnova1 and the other non-formula 1 italian shitposts he made, which were all just a mash of 2019 memes and eurobeat

plus i think about this one daily

none of these are actually old though

To this day I am still not entirely sure how much of Armstrong's lines were actually in the game at least to some extent and how many were made the fuck up on the spot.

Foul Bachelor Frog and other demotivational posters will always have a special place in my heart: cup of cereal brian socially awkward penguin

I collect Apus but I don't post them very often because of their association with the alt-right. He's still a cutie, though: apu in car apu surprises Anna turkey apu

Edit: is there an image limit? I have more old memes to share D:

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Okay I think it's a timing thing. Maybe I uploaded too many too fast.

Some more Apus:

I miss lolcats. I will also save other people's cat pictures.

My all-time favorite .gif (Jodie Foster being asked if she has a boyfriend):

No, seriously I have a lot of Apus:

That orange cat that's got its paws up. I've seen it edited into gladiator, with a gun pointed at it, etc..

I still quote lines from Weebls Stuff to this day. God help you if your name is Trevor.

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I did the ”snake, snaaaaake!” bit a while ago and had to tell my friend I was referencing Badger, Badger, Mushroom, not Metal Gear Solid sadness

[–] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 10 months ago

I think you've gotta work in the entire bridge, melody and British noises of distress included, to be recognized as being from Badgers and not MGS tbh

Oh I almost forgot!

"I think ____ (noun) is a pretty cool guy, eh ____ (verb phrase, 3pS present) and doesn't afraid of anything"

It kinda shaped my pronouns.

As a former teacher, I find creative ways of breaking English to be good times.

The "eat hot chip and lie" format still tickles me.

[–] infuziSporg@hexbear.net 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I accidentally alternate syntax.

I sometimes enjoy sentences that have inappropriate ending words that shouldn't be words that you end sentences with. troll

All of the Rick Astley stuff:

And I have tons of other old memes saved up on my phone also.

This one is a gem:

Then there is this type of stuff:

Also have a soft spot for the old gamer memes, one example:

I too remember all your base are belong to us fondly. heart-sickle

[–] NoLeftLeftWhereILive@hexbear.net 4 points 10 months ago

And come to think of it, a lot of the gym bro memes too. Would not probably use them now, but I was amused by them a lot back in the day and still find some of them pretty funny. The do you even lift bro-stuff.

There are also many native language spesific ones that would not translate here.

[–] absolutefuckinidiot@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 10 months ago

I’m gonna say the “steel is heavier than feathers” meme mostly as an excuse to mention Limmy’s Show and the guy in general, I think he’s been memed enough to count

Something about his humor and specifically the sketch series he did that clicks with me so well and I always laugh even though I’ve seen it countless times

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Misheard lyrics were a thing for a while, ”hamster, a dentist, Steven Seagull” still lives in my brain (made hearing that song on the radio a few months ago a lot better).
