I've never heard of Metazoo before but I like cryptids and the classic Sugimori artstyle so these caught my eye.

What are they? Does anyone know?

The game is unfortunately no longer in print, nor supported

Remember the guy in charge basically announcing it on Discord

Was all over the tabletop sites

Really? After only 4 years? Wow

Yeah, it did alright for a little while but then it just kind of petered out

Very hard to keep up when the majority of card game players are beholden to Magic The Gathering and it's multiple releases every year

Never heard of this game but seems they are blaming production issues rather than lack of consumer interest? Could just be saving face. If I saw these out cheap though I might be inclined to buy a few as speculation should the game return to popularity.

This game was like an NFT in TCG form (so like a double NFT). I've heard the game itself is okay, but it was largely used as an investment scam. People were just trying to unload product onto other people who would then do the same thing to someone else. Metazoo should have been called "Hot Potato."

Anything you see now is likely the last person to be holding the potato when the game was over.

The word you're looking for is bubble. I just made a post saying I'd buy these for speculation so guess I would have been the rube on this one all-my-apes-gone

Aww man that sucks. A Pokemon style game based on cryptids could be fun
