That doesn't look very realistic. I bet they just punched Godzilla for the take and then reversed the footage.
If Godzilla is moving in that direction in the OP picture, then Riker's trajectory means he's currently preparing for entry.

Riker would just have to think of Godzilla as a high-backed chair and he'd have the fight in the bag.

Only the Gorn are truly immune, and this makes me think Godzilla is just the final form of the gorn.
