Why sell? They're both appreciating in value. He's made more money than most of us will make in our entire lives just letting those mansions rot.

But you could also like, rent them to rich people? He's got the money he could assign someone to deal with that.
He could, or he could do nothing. Both make him money.
Also I imagine renting to rich people is a bit more complicated than it is for you and I. A lot more real possibility of litigation than from us regular folks.
He has enough money that he's never needed to, and thus he won't.
True but he's also rich enough he could hire someone to deal with it for him. He probably already has such a guy.
