For all the noise gamers, gooners and grifters made about Angela's face looking distractingly ugly, fat, masculine or just vaguely "weird," literally no one I've seen playing the game for the first time has noticed any of these supposedly blindingly obvious qualities. Just goes to show how this shit is just mass peer-inforced self-hypnosis

Sometimes you see streamers reading comments in their chat from gamers complaining about how ugly she looks and they're just confused

The fake culture war shit, and gamers complaining about stupid shit, has been around for ever.

When I was a kid the big thing was to complain if a game was too "casual" to the point that if a game wasn't a ~~US military funded propaganda~~ FPS with online multiplayer then it wasn't "hardcore gaming" and not a "real game".

This gooner phrenology shit about women's jaw shapes and bemoaning "the destruction of femininity" is a relatively recent development though. It wasn't a thing when Gamergate started 10 years ago

True. I wonder what stupid shit they'll complain about when they get tired of hating women, queers and POC?

As if g*mers would ever get tired of that.

How good is the Silent Hill 2 remake? Should I play it for Halloween?

I haven't played it myself yet (I definitely want to at some point though I suspect SH2R would make my computer burst into tears, then flames), but from what I have read and seen it's definitely a worthwhile horror experience. The major complaint I have seen about it is that some people feel the game is a bit bloated compared to the original. The new game is apparently a 16-20 hour game whereas the original would take about 8 hours on your first playthrough. I have played the original and I'm happy with how the story and cutscenes have been handled. The actors did a great job
