Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

These little glimmers of light give me hope.

[–] Anissem@lemmy.ml 17 points 4 days ago

Don’t give up hope my friend

I think he deserves this. He’s such an asshole. But Trump deserves it more. It should be his crap they are packing into trucks too.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Yeah is that why they do this, to give the public the impression that justice is in the process of operating as expected?

Back in the day Giuliani would have squeegee men and fare jumpers arrested and sent to jail. It's only fitting that he deal with a Zero Tolerance attitude when he's guilty of a crime.

He still hasn’t been arrested.

Niche NYC story.

There's a covered, elevated walkway between the Manhattan Criminal Courts Building and the Manhattan House of Detention. Prisoners go back and forth between the holding cells in the courthouse and the Department of Corrections cells next door. The name of the bridge used to be The Bernie Kerik Bridge. Then Kerik, who was in line to be Secretary of Homeland Defense got arrested.

I long to see Rudy walk that bridge someday.

Plus there is a deadline for enforcement if the wrong person gets presidential immunity, so it's also necessary in this case.

At what point does the judge start a contempt hearing for failing to comply with court orders?

[–] todd_bonzalez@lemm.ee 2 points 3 days ago

Executing a civil judgement doesn't have to do that so fast. They can just start taking his shit and auctioning it off to cover his dues. Eventually he'll be on the run and they'll have a better idea what wealth he's trying to hide. But any real estate he owns is probably toast.

I want to see the coffin ⚰️ he sleeps in

[–] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 7 points 4 days ago

Do ghouls sleep in coffins? I thought that was just vampires.

Man this dude is turning into the Penguin.

It's all because of that damn yoghurt. If it had actually been non-fat we would've never heard of this guy.

Lol dude skipped town and left everything he couldn't carry in the apartment! I had a neighbor do that before. Shits hilarious.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Meh. Even contempt of Congress only got Bannon a few months in jail, contempt of court wouldn't hurt this idiot much.

[–] maxenmajs@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

He just like daddy Trump for real. But it doesn't work the same when he somehow becomes vulnerable to the consequences of his actions.
