I'm with you. Having corn flakes without strawberry jam is unusual, if you ask me.
I never had it growing up, but came up with it myself as lazy adult that wanted a tasty bowl of cereal. It's really not that far-fetched.

I've had cheerios with a drizzle of honey on top (no milk) and it was decent. Maybe this is like that.
