Why do MAGA weirdos love to include the J initial? Do they think it makes him seem more distinguished and less like an incompetent baffoon? Pretty sure even Trump when constantly speaking in the third person like a psychopath doesn't include his middle initial, at least not the vast majority of the time.

My guess is that it has to do with the president lots of people speak fondly of, John F. Kennedy. Trump fans want him to be revered in the same way.

[–] alcoholicorn@lemmy.ml 61 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That's not fair, lots of people would like to remember Trump in the same way they remember JFK.

Not entirely on topic but I'm curious, why do people include the F. In John F. Kennedy? Was there another well known John Kennedy at the time?

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Good question. I don’t know, and I’m too lazy to look it up.

Fair enough haha. Decided to look it up myself and apparently it was a trend started by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Newspapers liked using the initials since it saved space in headlines so it kind of stuck around.

I mean people also said George W Bush a lot. But that might have been so no one confuses him with his incompetent father.

People who include their middle initial I just think are dumb. Just reminds me of Philip J Fry.

[–] Septimaeus@infosec.pub 2 points 1 month ago

I often see it between common names, which makes me think they might just be trying to differentiate.

Because of Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

I think you mean "Barack HUSSEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiinnnn (gasp gasp wheeeeze)... obama..." man, Trump is a dumb fuck.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Because Trump is super mad he wasn't named Fred like his dad and always has been. What they do have in common is the middle name of a holy leader, with Fred his middle name was legit "Christ" and Donald it's John the Baptist. His dead brother was Fred Christ as well but they gave him shit about caring about people until he drunk himself to death.

What a sad group of men. Also, the dude wearing sneakers with biker gear is definitely a poser, on top of already being a loser for basing his entire identity on the most repulsive geriatric in the country.

I honestly believe they would

[–] collapse_already@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 month ago

Ride, not be ridden by? Does he know? I don't think they fully understand his intentions.

Dick riding Obama, Obamaaaaa

That doesn't apply here. That's the only thing I could think of. "The Boondocks", if you're wondering.
