My wife loves Wacoal bras. A couple years ago, she finally found one of their bras in a pretty blue, instead of the normal beige.

They called the color "goblin blue" which of course made her feel great.

Well, technically I measure D (because bra sizing is whack) but yes. Because I don't need a bra, I can get any sort at all, they are more or less a decorative item, not an architectural support system.

But I used to be smaller and oh my God bras for truly small boobs are so hard to find, it's like the manufacturers have never seen a small bust. They scale EVERYTHING down, instead of making them have human proportions - they think if average boobs are like half grapefruits, then small boobs must be like half golf balls, but nobody is built like that.

There are women on Lemmy? Thought we were exclusively neckbeards.

Yeah here on Lemmy usually the worst it gets is “your operating system, my choice.”

I'm a woman and I wear a 36G. There is literally ONE BRAND I can buy that is reliable and consistent in sizing and shapes. They don't stock this size in their stores either so I have to buy it online and hope it works. Luckily it's pretty reliable if I stick to the cacique brand.

The worst part is that my hubs can't/won't buy me lingerie because it's such a shot in the dark of it'll fit. Eventually I want to save up and have a custom set made so it fits my body perfectly and makes me feel sexy. It's such a bummer I can't get that from store bought items.

I can also vouch for their cheese! I mean, I'm a gringo but it's still pretty good.

LOL those cheeses are absolutely delicious 🤤

This is the brand with the same name for bras tho: https://www.lanebryant.com/cacique-intimates/bras

my partner says that she agrees with the second part for sizes f and up, and the first part is true for women sizes c, d, and e, but if you have size b or god forbid lower youre completely fucked.

"Ive never had a bra from a conventional place fit me because they dont actually use small-chested women as their models. They just take other women and scale down the size so it basically never fits right-- there is gappage and weird tightness/looseness in areas you dont want. The whole industry sucks because it was created by men and not women."

[–] EdanGrey@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago

I agree with your partner, it's one reason I just gave up wearing them altogether.

I read that as ship “bow” instead of clothing “bow” but it kind of works either way.

[–] Hoimo@ani.social 5 points 1 day ago

Yeah same, we were primed by the mention of anchors and decks. And as someone who thinks ships are pretty, I really didn't see anything wrong with that interpretation. I think I've even heard butts described as the stern before.

Most bras, from most retail options, are of the basic, comfortable variety, regardless of size. You sort of have to intentionally look for the lace ones (unless you shop in stores made primarily for sex appeal like Victoria’s Secret - the secret is people don’t typically wear that crap).

Having lace daily rub your nipples, underboob area, or under arm area, leads to chafing and is really unpleasant.

And most bras, despite being super expensive, aren’t made with high quality materials, so lace doesn’t last for shit.

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I can't imagine anyone wearing a 100% lace bra as a daily thing. Normal fabric with a small lace edge? sure. Normal fabric with lace over the outside? As long as I'm not doing laundry, why not. Lace everywhere? Fuck no.

[–] ApathyTree@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Personally, I find even a lace edge or covering to be unpleasant for a whole day of wear, since the seam to sew it on is typically directly against the skin and it’s scratchy more often than not. Especially bad are the ones that have the lace covering and fold it over the under-cup edge to sew it on, cuz it tends to be really low quality lace and also tends to have the weave stretched open which makes it scratchier.

It’s personal comfort threshold stuff, ofc, but there’s a reason most bras are super basic. Especially since nobody really sees them most of the time.

[–] Mango@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

The lace isn't supposed to be on the inside right?

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I'm a J or K cup depending on brand, and it's almost always plain black or beige. I hate the bows they feel shitty and tacked on.

Currently the D cup daily driver is

THIS she-hulk double-barreled boulder holder absolute unit dump-truck brazier

dainty pink underwire bra

The under wire is indeed quite robust but the mesh material is very flexible, breathable, and comfy.

I have yet to figure out, in my client (Connect), how to click links in spoiler text. Thanks for the alt text, though, I legitimately respect that.

Oh my b, I didn’t realize spoilers messed up pictures. Here’s the pic:

Fwiw, your original comment works fine with Thunder, so it's definitely something wrong with their app

[–] solarbabies@lemmy.world 4 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

can you share a link to the bra or product/brand name?

Torrid would like a word with you.

But seriously, cute bras for large boobs are definitely a thing.
