Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

He was a Leftbook regular that passed away a few years ago. The fox news guy apparently made a beeline for him with the camera crew thinking he was an easy mark. Constantly arguing with liberals prepared him for this very moment. o7

passed away

wtf this is unfair. I'm assuming a horrible disease? he's so young

From what i recall, he was another victim of the opioid epidemic. He was just a kid when he passed. Was talking big game about organizing and getting involved in local groups, and we were all happy for him. He was part of the first modern "tankie" cliques i remember seeing online, and ended up convincing me more times than i wanted to admit at the time.

Edit: thinking about it now, i remember him having interests in computer sciences and cybersecurity, and hating on redditors. Were it not for the circumstances that made him leave us so early, I think that he'd very likely be posting Stalin memes alongside us if he were here today.

Funny clip, but do not try to use this line irl comrades unless you just want to look like a freak and make everyone with a nuanced view of the Soviet Union look incrementally more like a freak by proxy.

There are better arguments.

Saying "the population grew 1.2%" over 30 years as if that's some kind of standalone own really just reveals how little you even understand about what you're saying, and makes the rest of us look delusional.

I mean world war two happened. Hard for your population to grow when 20 million die

let's collect some suggestions from our comrades for solid one-shot responses in this situation

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 22 points 1 month ago

Breht from Rev Left once said a good response is "can you tell me a single book you've read on the subject?"

I tend more towards something along the lines of "don't you think it's strange that your opinion on official enemies of the United States are always 1:1 with those of the US State Department?"

nah you should use the line irl anyway

unless you're worried about getting arrested or something. Which fine.

It’s possible that it is itself a trap to get the “not good faith” inquisitor to speak on your terms and not theirs. Idk what the next part of it was but if he asks “how come only so little growth?” Then you suddenly have a platform to say that Stalin and Russia saved the world from fascism

[–] Yukiko@hexbear.net 9 points 1 month ago

Yup. You gotta lead the person asking the questions. That's how you truly own a conversation.

What if I do want to look like a freak because I crave scorn and contempt though

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That's fine just don't drag down a liberatory cause on your way

What would have been the ideal comeback in this situation?

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The comeback is perfect, the kid fucking nailed it.

It’s not about the content of his retort or whether it’s logical, it’s about cadence, rhythm, and timing to reach a threshold of quickwittedness or the appearance of it, and that’s all you need to dominate emptyheaded fucks like this reporter

How many of those were Nazis?

Physically manifesting pig poop balls

Alternatively: "Until now, you people always said it was 20 million. Come back to me when you make up your minds."

[–] AFineWayToDie@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago

"They all deserved it."
