Our Toddler decided to have the worst fucking attitude this past week. He's also gotten really good at getting out of his crib and won't go to bed. He used to just go right down to sleep but I guess that era is over.

Mine has started doing these wild rock climbing style moves to boost himself up onto stuff

Going to have to take the side off the crib real soon so he doesn't try to climb out, but I'm wondering if that newfound freedom is going to make putting him down at bedtime more difficult

Crib side taking off is something I have planned for this week. It's futile to leave it on if he's just gonna climb out. It's safer for him too.

What we did for our oldest is get a smart bulb and lamp and have it set for like blue for "stay in bed" and orange for "it's morning and time to get up". It mostly worked for the oldest but our toddler is also kind of a terrorist so idk how well it will work.

Today is the kind of day EVERYONE in the house needs a nap. 😴

I'm currently listening to "How to Talk so Little Kids Will Listen", and it's pretty good. A lot about validating their feelings. Seems pretty good so far, we're having some trouble with our 3 year old and I think a lot of it is she needs more attention than she's getting right now.

The stuff you learn about effective communication with little kids works on people of all ages. Mirroring tone, validating feelings, genuinely engaging however you can - everyone likes being heard, everyone needs that attention. Let us know how it works!

One of my boys goes down easily when he needs to sleep, the other just resists. He's gone down betterthe past two nights but then he wakes up crying constantly.

We'll eventually be at 6 months since our last sleep school stay, maybe we should book in another

Any interest in a book club? I’d love to read something on kids liberation (like Childism), parenting, or non-traditional schooling with comrades.
