Have you tried parting it down the middle?
If metal detecting is allowed where you beachcomb, look into that. Or find one of those mesh scoops, dig up sea lice to sell to fishermen. Or use the same scoop to clean up microplastics in the surf area. Or clean up the flotsam trash that lands ashore. Or sell the shells you find to shell shops nearby if they buy from individuals.
Or just sit on the beach and grow a beard if you have the ability to do so. Become grizzled and develop a 100 yard stare and some wicked basal cell skin cancer from too much UV exposure.
Joking aside, please make sure you wear loose fitting long sleeves, a big brimmed hat, and some high SPF sunscreen. Skin damage that causes cancer happens quickly.
