This is the same vibe as electric bulbs in videogames using real electricity

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 32 points 2 months ago

Wait. What. Whoa

[–] dumptruck@lemmings.world 7 points 2 months ago

Only if you've got an OLED display, for LCDs you're using roughly the same energy as long as your display's backlight is on.

They’re not talking the amount of use, but just the sheer fact that if you see an electric light in a video game, it’s being powered by real world electricity, just like a normal light is.

The real reason it sank was to reunite the pool with it's mum.

There's no place like home?

Unfortunately the water is no longer heated.

[–] Katana314@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

But global warming seeks to fix that!

Hope they change it regularly, otherwise it's full of algae by now

[–] dumptruck@lemmings.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think it's mostly full of dead guy at this depth.

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 months ago

So maybe someone should dive there and replace them with new ones?

[–] distantsounds@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

And you may ask yourself, “how did I get here?”

[–] Endymion_Mallorn@kbin.melroy.org 3 points 2 months ago

Yes, but what about the Olympic and Britannic?
