Got to say, ff16 is probably the least Final Fantasy game in the series.
Having played almost all of them, the course they're going is more devil may cry/action RPG than final fantasy. It's disappointing as a long time fan.

Less than 15?
I just finished it. And having played most of them too, it's middle of the road for me. But that's just because I've really loved a bunch of the games.
Yeah, I love the theme, characters, and story, but it’s hard to appreciate whatever strategy exists in the battle system if you don’t have ninja-like focus and reflexes first. I really wanted to go for a platinum on this game, but decided it’s just not worth the anxiety and stress I’d have to put myself through.
There are accessories that help you dodge. I used them until I got good enough (and high enough level) that I didn't need it anymore. I personally loved combat once I had a few power sets. My personalized abilities felt perfect.
I actually used all of those extensively, and never got good enough to completely ditch them. Unfortunately there are unlockables that I have no hope of accessing because the handicap accessories themselves are simply not good enough to complete those challenges. I really missed turn-based/hybrid style combat while playing XVI.
I did like XVI a lot more than XV's. But I really wish the series had used XII's ATB system as a standard going forward.
I really enjoy XII a lot. I wish we could see more done like that, even if it’s a spinoff.
