"had a very meaningful meeting" reads to me like "the design is very human"

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 13 points 6 hours ago

Who doesn't want the advantage when brokering peace?

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago

And y'all still think Trump is in charge? Do you think that senile old man wrote that post? He's on a tight leash this time, they've learned to control him. FFS, does that read like a Trump post?!

[–] Nastybutler@lemmy.world 25 points 10 hours ago

What a lying, traitorous, idiotic little bitch.

JFK wasn't expecting to get assassinated that day and that's something Trump worries about every day. It's gonna be a lot harder

[–] CarbonBasedNPU@lemm.ee 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

wouldn't be if the SS was actually loyal to the contry and not a tyrant.

[–] 5ibelius9insterberg@feddit.org 3 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

As a German, I always irritates me, that the Secret Service is called „SS“

[–] Gurfaild@feddit.org 3 points 3 hours ago

It's less misleading now than it used to be

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 146 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Dunno why hes surprised; zelensky has a habit of standing up against wannabe dictators

[–] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 50 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

He already stood up to him when he wouldn't sign off on the biden bullshit during the 2020 campaign even though he was basically blackmailed.

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 26 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Did you notice how Trump said he “knew Putin was going to invade when Biden pulled out of Afghanistan” in the cabinet meeting? I found it very interesting, considering he personally set the pull out date before leaving office.

[–] Captainvaqina@sh.itjust.works 11 points 11 hours ago

Jesus christ. His handlers are fucking evil trash. They need to be eradicated from planet earth.

[–] Arghblarg@lemmy.ca 79 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Guh. They spin harder than a goddamned pulsar. Zelenskyy had incredible restraint to sit through this meeting, what a total waste of his valuable time.

The EU and the world needs to lift one big middle-finger to this administration and support Ukraine in any way possible. The US needs to be shut out in the cold, NOW. Kick them out of NATO. Put Ukraine in their place. EU, throw out the bloody procedural bullshit and just DO IT NOW. Start building tanks and planes and drones and ammo NOW, because the world will need it to stop Russia without the US's help. After Ukraine, it'll be Moldova, then all the other small neighbouring nations, then ...

Don't forget the part about how China has been planning for an isolationist America to push its own territorial ambitions. This is not going to be merely hell in the Baltics, a world war is taking shape as the long peace crumbles.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 4 points 15 hours ago (3 children)

I wouldn't exactly describe the last decades as 'peace', but ok...

[–] makyo@lemmy.world 1 points 5 minutes ago

You will if a war starts like the one /u/gradually_adjusting is talking about

[–] taladar@sh.itjust.works 14 points 14 hours ago

Peaceful enough that apparently people in industrial nations forgot how bad war really is if they elect war mongers like Trump as leaders.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 16 points 15 hours ago

It's a term people have used to describe the state of affairs since the last hot war between major powers.

[–] match@pawb.social 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

i don't blame China for that though, i haven't seen anything China's done to advance american isolationism, just seems like they had some measure of foresight

[–] heavydust@sh.itjust.works 52 points 16 hours ago (6 children)

Every time I see him speak or write, I wonder why they don’t have IQ tests for being president.

[–] ech@lemm.ee 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Because pseudo-science has no place deciding who gets to participate in their country's politics.

[–] the_q@lemm.ee 1 points 16 minutes ago

How about a cognitive health test for the elderly?

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 20 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Cause for so many, having money is seen as a replacement for being smart.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 20 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

They actually think that having money proves that rich people are smart. Had a dumb ass tell me a couple years ago that Musk must be smart, because he wouldn't be so rich if he wasn't a genius.

[–] 5714@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 16 hours ago

They had tests, but for active voting rights and for racist reasons.

[–] rabber@lemmy.ca 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I don't think IQ tests are regarded as a good test of intelligence anymore but I know what you're saying

[–] piccolo@sh.itjust.works 0 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

A simple geography test would suffice "point on the globe where the country Zimbabwe is."

[–] rabber@lemmy.ca 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Ah man I failed and pointed to Botswana

[–] piccolo@sh.itjust.works 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Points are awarded like geoguesser. You receive 90 points for being close.

[–] rabber@lemmy.ca 2 points 12 hours ago

I should practice my africa geography though, definitely weakest in that region

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago

Put a clown in the white house and he won't become a president but the white house a circus.

Someone said.

[–] MyDogLovesMe@lemmy.world 7 points 16 hours ago

“In order to receive your presidency, you must first answer this skill-testing question:”

Don't watch the video if you have a faint hearth.

[–] JadenSmith@sh.itjust.works 4 points 12 hours ago

This is good advice, I watched the video and couldn't even see it! Walked right into my fireplace.

"He can come back when he is ready for Peace."

Trump is such a fucking man child.

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 11 points 14 hours ago

Donald was treated more respectfully than he deserves to be.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 13 points 15 hours ago

Fucking traitor fucking traiting.

[–] Windex007@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

If I cherish a space, I ensure that there are no shit stains in it.

Maybe my standards are unreasonably high, though.
