ahinsashoes.cz - shoe maker from the Czech Republic, designed in Czechia, made in Croatia. Focuses on the barefoot shoes.

CMP are an Italian sports clothing brand also making shoes for hiking, running, biking, etc... I like them because they have a slimmer fit.

NPS/Solovair - British leather (and some vegan) shoes and boots, including 'doc marten' style Derby boots (they used to manufacture 'Dr. Martens by Solovair' boots).

Whatshoes.co are Estonian ran and produced, and are big on combat boots, but also have other shoes.

ECCo is indeed Danish but have gotten a lot of heat for not pulling out of Russia when they invated Ukraine

Sange goes for a few other Danish companies who contributed inue to do business with Russia, including Rockwool, and Novo Nordisk among others

Searching the web, it looks like they just sell shoes in Russia. It's not like they run their business there.

they used to be the purveyor for the royal Danish family. the latter demanded them to stop operating in Russia after the full-blown invasion started if they want to renew the contract, and Ecco was like "nah we'll keep doing that, thanks".

They defied the monarchy?

French shoes, their original model (and others) are made with recycled plastic bottles

Sievi - made in Finland, mainly safety/industrial shoes but they have "normal" shoes too

Adidas is the 2nd biggest sports brand in the world, almost feels like it doesn't count lol

Similar with cars tbh

Nobody buys American cars (because they're shite)

[–] SleafordMod@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago

Also:

  • Puma (German)
  • Lacoste (French)
  • H&M (Swedish)
  • Primark (Irish)
  • Ellesse (Italian, owned by the British)

Also there's Fred Perry and Fila which are both Asian-owned (by Japan and South Korea respectively), but they're at least nominally European brands.

Some European brands are American-owned though, like Umbro and Reebok.

Not Ecco: they continue to do business in Russia. For my money and conscience, I’d buy American shoes before buying from them.

My favourite shoes at the moment are ON cloudswift. Swiss brand, although the shoes aren't actually made there.

[–] frightful_hobgoblin@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

The laces broke for me and the soles squeaked.

Astorflex. Made in Italy leather shoes with stitchdown construction.

[–] SrMono@feddit.org 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Meindl and haix for hiking and work wear.

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 13 hours ago

For hiking there are also Salomon (french), Tecnica (Italian I think ?) and Nordica (Italian). Decathlon (french) also has decent entry level stuff for basically every sport

[–] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Freet Barefoot - barefoot style shoes made in the UK, often out of recycled material, and known to be quite durable for the money.

[–] hadek@lemmings.world 4 points 2 days ago

Very intresting, never heard of freet or barefoot shoes. Kinda reminds me of what I love so much about my knitted sneakers in the summer.

[–] Mvlad88@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

https://www.vasky.cz/cs/ - Vasky from Czech Republic. Not sure if they ship outside of CZ yet.
