Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

See that! See the sheer fucking power of Central planning!!!

Less than a week!

It's glorious. Just a "well fuck you then" and in less than a week it's happening. Didn't have to fuck around for years in committee or hold rounds of congressional hearings then find the cheapest corner cutting half ass contractor in the country.

Shit just happens. Look at the maps of high speed rail in China. Look at it! I can't even have a goddamn city bus where I live. They have a million miles of fucking bullet trains. The biggest infrastructure projects in the world.

/sigh.

Sorry. I'm just fucking sick and tired of living in a third world country with a Gucci belt.

I don't mean to detract from the rapidity of this, but it looks like this was figured out in 2022 after a decade of research.

Still very fast adoption in face of the US's tariff stupidity. I wouldn't be surprised if they had this tech already primed explicitly for this type of scenario.

That’s part of good central planning though, doing necessary research ahead of time so you’re prepared to make decisions

[–] propter_hog@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago

BINGO, it simply reiterates OP's point about central planning being the primary reason it happened in a week

I can't wait until the soy industry is pouring money into influencers and we get Joe Rogan talking about how soy is actually super good for bulking.

Imagine that domino meme, where the huge domino is this headline and the tiniest domino is Xi's visit to rural Iowa in 1985.

Chinese sons about to be come larger than American sons. The large son arms race is over. Our corn gives us diabetes, their corn is like drinking the purple flower potion from Black Panther.

high protein corn implies the existence of high-protein corn syrup and high-protein corn ethanol.

[–] SteamedHamberder@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No. Because corn protein essentially a waste product from producing corn syrup or ethanol.

Corn tofu wasn't on my 2025 bingo card

[–] Barabas@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It is just bizarre to me that China is reliant on US soybean export and are looking to offset it by growing corn.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

It's because many farms in China focus on cash crops they export overseas. It's win-win if a country doesn't go batshit like USA is
