That's a pentacle, Usually a protective or binding ward. The button takes you to the original instance the poster is from, but its shaped like that to protect you from bad vibes.

In particular, this button is useful if you want to view a post/comment which has embedded images from another instance. Hexbear's UI doesn't embed images hosted on other servers as a measure to prevent your browser from automatically contacting third party servers. Some Fediverse platforms attempt to cache all third-party media locally (like Mastodon, with enormous storage requirements) so your browser is only connecting to your home instance, but on Lemmy, images are normally hot-linked to their original instance.
