Genuinely freaky how much slaveowners loved columns like that looks gaudy

A friend once told me "if someone ever doesn't believe you're half-white you should just start talking about how much you love wrap-around porches on houses" and you know, I think the same goes for giant ass non-load bearing porch posts/columns because I really don't think they're gaudy if they're done well.

the typical plantation style white ones? yes - ugly.

brick/wood columns though? sign me up

Much upvotes. I don't get it.
Any context please?

That house belonged to slavers that never met justice. The current owners are most likely descendant of said shitstains and would probably enjoy owning slaves if it was legal.

There's no justice in this world, but those dipshits are maybe a bit sad about their beloved monument to slavery burning down. But they probably have insurance or even government funds for being an "historical architecture" wink wink.

Anyways, on top of being profoundly evil, these OG McMansions were tacky as shit

The context is that was a plantation house and it should have been burnt down long ago
