The move comes after the Trump administration helped get corruption charges dropped against Eric Adams, who is seeking re-election as mayor.

The Justice Department is conducting a criminal investigation into former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a leading contender in the New York City mayoral race, over his testimony to Congress last year, according to a person familiar with the matter.

House Republicans had requested a federal investigation into Cuomo, a Democrat, arguing he lied to the House Oversight Committee last year when he said he had not been involved in reviewing a report from the New York Department of Health about the state's handling of the coronavirus pandemic when he was governor.

Ok seriously this is the most torn I’ve been on a thing in a bit.

  • Cuomo is an absolute shitbag who deserves to get legally shredded.
  • But this is also an outrageous and overtly politically-motivated prosecutorial overreach.

If this investigation will derail his campaign I say go get him.

I’m more concerned it might strengthen it.

Yep this is orangeboi taking a page out of the playbook Putin used for Navalny and other political opponents he’s faced over the years

Where were you when Bloomberg blew off the term limits we have voted for multiple times? Cuomo not offering you a sweet rezoning kickback? Oh that's right, BB and Vilhelm already sold every square inch to developers.

What happened to the millions of dollars Vilhelm's wife absconded with? Did you check the fucking office he built for her? You dropped those charges.

At least Cuomo's not a Red Sox fan.

Ok. So trump lied, was caught and convicted. He's president now. So I can only assume trump is investigating him to ensure he can pass confirmation. trump loves his criminal buddies.
