I wonder if that was chronic wasting disease. They're so disoriented and wonky once the symptoms present.

Actually maybe could be possible?
Deer naturally loose there antlers, it is usually an easy process but they sometimes have to run them against trees or rocks to get them to come off, if one got a bit too impatient and aggressive they might have fractured there skulls, deer are known to walk on there hind legs and brain damage could explain the rest. Sooo, unlikely but not impossible.
There's also cervid wasting disease, which can make deer act in very bizarre ways and with disregard to self-preservation.
Sounds like a not-deer
