The next article will be complaining about millennials killing the egg industry

[–] redtea@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 1 year ago

Eggs, avocados, pears, anything that shape will work.

2 months later

β€œMillennials and GenZ are destroying the Breakfast Market”

[–] supersolid_snake@lemmygrad.ml 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

People will let the elites talk to them like that actually. I am sure the WSJ could print an article saying "let rich people shit in your mouth, a solution to hunger" and people will still take it.

It's because they think the elites have "the secret" to getting rich, and that by listening to them and following their advice, they can become a billionaire too.

Of course, the "secret" is having rich parents, but they never mention that part...

What's the full article say? I can only see the beginning of it

[–] Shinhoshi@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thank you! Disappointing that the article is just a bunch of numbers

[–] Shrike502@lemmygrad.ml 16 points 1 year ago

Impressive. Very nice. Let's see the author's net worth

Article: maybe you should skip breakfast to save money

Bacon and Eggs suppliers: supply skyrockets while demand falls

Article: Please start eating breakfast!

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Next thing you know the article will read "To Save Money, Maybe You Should Skip Eating" just so the rich can blame the poor for the crumbling economy that was/is actually caused by them doing the very bare minimum to support it.

[–] 201dberg@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago

I shit you not I saw one that was like "money troubles? Sell some of your stuff." I'll have to look through my files and find the exact post. lol

Loss of appetite is already a common symptom of depression, so nobody needs to give the lower classes this advice; it is redundant.

Wonna know what really helps again poverty?

Real estate

I’ve already been doing this for a while and you don’t see me bragging about it

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago (3 children)

i may have a wrong impression but dont europeans go very light on breakfast already?

[–] redtea@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 year ago

It's just a metaphor; they should skip lunch and heating instead.

[–] roux@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago

In the US, breakfast is a lot of people's entire personality. They like to worship their bacon here in Burgerland.

[–] RedCat@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Compared to Americans? Probably.

I don't know how representative I am for the average European but I usually have some eggs or a cup of skyr with fruits and/or oats for breakfast.

i remember going to spain with some relatives as a kid and damn i was perpetually starving because our breakfast was 1 slice of bread with coffee. maybe they just were cheap i guess.

[–] RedCat@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah, sounds likely.

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

What is skyr? Is it like yogurt? Is it nice?

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Denser than a yoghurt, very similar to white cheese. Normal skyr is a bit too bitter for me but the flavoured ones are very good.

[–] RedCat@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Similar to yoghurt. Low calories, very high in protein. Ideal breakfast if you are on a diet.

500g have like ~300 kcal and ~55g of protein.

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago

That sounds really good, I'll have to keep an eye out to see if there is any in my area.
