To be clear, the article is misusing the term left-leaning. They clarify further in that by “left-leaning” they mean neolibs and only neolibs. Because in the US anyone even slightly opposed to dictatorship and authoritarianism is “left leaning.”

They never used the term 'leftist'. They said left-leaning a lot, which is accurate to the context they're reporting on.
Well they're still CAPITALISTS! Gotta make that dosh, those bones, that cheddar, those notes, that coinage, those wads, that moolah, those rocks, that boodle, those greenbacks, that dinero, those simoleons, that gravy.
