I hate how much I love this.

Are these real, or AI generated?

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 34 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Probably the latter, but all I know is... if someone made it, it would sell. I'd probably buy one and I don't even camp. I might start camping just to justify buying one.

Nowadays, there's a lot of AI used in advertising, often advertising nonexistent products.

Is it market research or something?

[–] Benj1B@sh.itjust.works 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I mean if it is its clever - put a bunch of made up products out there to gauge interest without needing to invest any capital, then actualy make the products that garner the most attention. Makes way more sense than trying to manufacture and market things from scratch

We are all beta testers

It would require an air compressor to keep the head inflated like a holiday yard decoration, thus also requiring a constant source of power and also noisy. Would be terrible for camping in all scenarios lol

[–] HonoraryMancunian@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

You can get inflatable tents nowadays which don't need a constant stream of air, so the technology's there at least

Yes, but... dinosaur > camping... so.

[–] Pinklink@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

I mean, we’ve all got mouths

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago

Try to pack it back up, even if you use poles for the face it’s impractical

[–] CaptainBlagbird@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

Dinosaurs were loud too, design the compressor to growl like an animal and it's a win-win, I don't see your problem /s

[–] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 10 points 10 months ago

I found the site and yeah, it's all AI generated. That's said, I hope someone makes them real. I'd probably put the tent in my room and put a mattress inside the tent.

The trees in the last picture give it away.

Bringing this to a multi day concert would be pretty funny. I'm sure you'd make a tonne of friends just because of it. How could you not it's fucking awesome lol.

It'd get stolen the moment you left it alone.

[–] OfficeMonkey 15 points 10 months ago

I came here for a link to the sale. I didn't even pause to check if it was fake.

They got me...

[–] muix@infosec.pub 8 points 10 months ago

Definitely worth the extra weight on a multi day hike

This is one thing that might have let child me actually enjoy camping trips.

Undeniably awesome
