Honestly if you're not planning on programming, why should you need to know how to use the terminal?
I get that it is incredibly useful, but I don't think it should be a requirement for anyone just trying to use their PC. I think the prevalence of Linux terminal workflows is just a reflection of the user base: mostly coders.
Linux community: we need mass adoption more users from non technical backgrounds. Linux is better for the user. Also Linux community: what do you mean you don't know how to open the terminal and enter these 15 suspicious commands. Here is a guide and don't ask stupid questions. RTFM
Not me!
It was me before I switched. When I made the plunge I took the effort to learn the basics, and within a week I was pretty comfortable (but still needed a cheat sheet for stuff like ffmpeg).
Whenever I use ffmpeg
, I am also using the browser.
Or I am using a pre-made script.
Ooh, a PeerTube embed… nice to see Fediverse services getting used
What do you use to view Lemmy?

All you need to make the terminal more attractive is fish!
That's me alright. Not from lack of trying mind you but I've had to reinstall my OS a couple of times this weekend to make an install boot properly on an old laptop. I'mma have to reinstall again because I messed up a console install.
