Lmao, if it’s supposed to be decommed next year then they’ve deferred a ton of maintenance and it’s not going to be in good shape.

False flag prediction: they'll say Iran sank it when it actually just did that (it's old has holes from decommissioning process)

idk if that would be something theyd want to do. Sure it probably gets the USians to support war, but theyll mostly do that anyway. A US carrier sinking tho would make the US look weak af and embolden other nations to act against them too tho.

Which will be great for Trump who is seeking to push a $1 trillion increase in federal spending on military, while cutting public services and social services along the way. A major US loss would probably let him push that to $2 trillion. A wet dream for the military industrial complex and the financial capitalists wanting to gut as much social welfare as possible.

Gutting welfare to fund a massive bureaucratic cheque to replace naval assets that the US lacks the industrial capacity to build is gonna do wonders for the parasitic class of middle managers that make up the majority of the American MIC.

Isn't that like the most bipartisan thing ever in USA government anyway?

Year of Korean reunification

It would be funny if they thought they were recreating the September 11, Never Forget (which they will fuck up and make it overly partisan and divisive from the start) but the anti-US unity and self-liberation fervor world wide it creates ends up being 100x bigger.

Remember how huge troubles they had with decomissioning of USS Enterprise? And it wouldn't be even first time when US get rid of obsolete ships like that. On the other hand, it would be a super risky gambit, since Iran sinking US nuclear carrier would be not only ragebait for war consent manufacture but also a sign of extreme weakness of US Armed Forces. On the third hand, someone there might had itching hand for that red button.

Reminds me of that ship in Tom Clancys "No Remorse", same thing but Vietnam (god bless the brain worms)
