Hooray for an actually correct understanding of what Anti-Semitism is!

[–] SonOfAntenora@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

You mean yet another antisemitic stuff from this person...i lost count of the thigs he did so far.

Burke told the ABC's Afternoon Briefing that the musician, who goes by Ye, had a valid visa cancelled by officials in his department after releasing a song titled Heil Hitler.

Yeah...

[–] CoolThingAboutMe@aussie.zone 1 points 11 hours ago

Sweet. Hopefully this means we will deny Musk and Trump and all the rest of them too

[–] DavidDoesLemmy@aussie.zone 7 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Completely separate from the anti-Semitism, the song itself is pretty awful. How can someone with so many bangers fall so far.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 6 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (1 children)

the song itself is pretty awful.

Par for the course

How can someone with so many bangers fall so far.

The mf has no fucking bangers if he was reduced to forcing games to play his music in the background through non diagetic sound.

music in the background through non diagetic sound.

I had to look it up but it seems to me you are simply referring to background music.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

yeah, to differenciate it from being on the radio in the game, which is more usual for open world games.

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 1 points 17 hours ago

it's a common term in media analysis

"Antisemitic song" is rather understating things...

[–] eureka@aussie.zone 28 points 1 day ago

On the other hand, I enjoy finally seeing a correct use of the word "antisemitic" by ABC News.

"i aint no anti-semite-semite"-

[–] BroBot9000@lemmy.world 65 points 1 day ago

Good! Fuck that Nazi shithead

[–] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 48 points 1 day ago

Excellent. He's a massive cunt.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

If you call an album Ballocaust , you might need to expect a little controversy at least.

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 27 points 1 day ago

If only he could be denied entry back...

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 21 points 1 day ago

Get wrecked, dickhead

[–] j4k3@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Dude does anything for a spotlight so even this hitting news is a positive validating his relevancy

[–] Tollana1234567 4 points 18 hours ago

shouldve taken his meds, which he now refuses to do.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I have never been a fan but I feel like it's a lot deeper than just craving attention. The dude has serious unchecked mental problems.

"Source": My best friend has bipolar and we lived together during many episodes - the similarity is uncanny, minus the bigoted stuff

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He was diagnosed with bipolar but has recently said he was misdiagnosed and instead has been rediagnosed with autism.

A grain of salt, but there appears to be something under the salt nonetheless.

[–] Tollana1234567 1 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

this doesnt look like AUTISM which isnt one symptom or a group of other defecits, it sounds more like BPD with highs and lows, his highs being creative with music but his lows, depression his spiraling towards nazism.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

He also said he doesn't believe the first diagnosis because the doctor is Jewish

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Whatever. Fuck him, good for Australia 🥂

[–] eureka@aussie.zone 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Hey OP, I noticed at the bottom of the article it credits that it's a republishing of the original article by ABC. Always good to link upstream if you notice that happening, for example the upstream article might notice a mistake and correct it.

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone 6 points 1 day ago

Yeah I agree. Using the upstream source also helps keep the canonical URL so cross-posts and reposts can automatically be detected to show users where conversations about the topic may have already happened.

[–] Mwa@thelemmy.club 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I never knew you can get denied entry for being a bigot.

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Canadian here, since we have similar laws. You have to be a real extreme bigot to be banned entry on that alone. I mean you have to be the type of idiot who would publicly declare himself a Nazi and a racist, like in a song or something.

Americans are always uncomfortable with Canadian hate speech laws. But 99% of us don’t ever have to worry about them, because 99% of us aren’t running around calling ourselves nazis and asking for the extermination of an ethnic minority.

[–] Tollana1234567 1 points 18 hours ago

also in a time like this where anyone can be called an anti-semite just for criticizing israel, western countries are actually touchy/. he might have better luck in a asian country.

[–] Mwa@thelemmy.club 3 points 1 day ago

oh okay thank you, Good to know.
