Sounds like the concept would be far more fun if the fantasy world started rapidly developing its own modern military industry from captured tech or whatever and you get all kinds of wacky stuff

Wtf, why who wanted this lmfao. I watched about half the first season and it was an entertaining enough gun-jerk, but I had to tap out when the MC started gaslighting the elf girl character into thinking she was her dead elf father. I wouldn't call it terrible, but what can you do with "and then the modern military utterly washes the huge midieval military state in minutes" and keep it actually interesting?
I guess there was that hilarious scene where the spec ops squads of all the big nations were tricked into killing each other by the JSDF spec ops, over possession of the obligatory loli 500 year old goddess, who was a diplomatic guest of Japan at the time.

Anime was a mistake. The Magicians did it much better, but was constrained by a live-action budget.
It's a military circle jerk anime that glorifies the JDF more or less and the original writer is a big time nationalist
I think I watched the 1st season ? The concept is fun (modern arms vs medival forces) but I agree that the politics behind it are really bad.
It doesn't sound super interesting to me, only because it sounds very one-sided.
Gate and The Irregular at Magic High School are two most fascist Anime ever. Also what is with fascists and their love of incest?
I think you're missing The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace from your list, though it has sexual content that is so abhorrent in parts of it I wouldn't recommend, unlike gate it's hard to watch in those parts.

Was this fun? I watched it back then but I barely remember it, later I found out it was huge jsdf propaganda which makes sense
You're better off watching some of the action scenes on YouTube and ignoring the rest. Not only is it problematic, it's also the most mid isekai shit you'll ever see. Everything wrong with the genre, you'll find it in Gate being done excessively.
I kept hoping it would get better, but it only got worse and worse as it dragged on.
Specific scenes were fun. The majority of the show is unhinged. Rory Mercury is the best gothic lolita character design and she belongs in a far better show.

I only vaguely recall this anime, and I remember it starting off with the main character ilcalling himself an “otaku” right off the bat.
Yup that's why he gets to go to Narnia: he's the nerdiest nerd who ever nerded and therefore is most qualified to meet with the queen, elves, etc. It's total wish fulfillment and self-insert slop.
You guys could be watching Teogonia instead, where the MC is powered by the god of anti racism
