Ever notice how your tongue never quite rests comfortably in your mouth? Like it's a tiny bit too big?

I really only notice that for your tongue.

[–] lauha@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

My tongue doesn't do that. Maybe it's just you 🤔

[–] esc27@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Your bones are wet

[–] Hjalamanger@feddit.nu 4 points 1 month ago

And your teeth kinda rub against one another in an distracting manner?

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Only when someone mentions it like you did.

[–] archonet@lemy.lol 2 points 1 month ago

Two can play at that game: you can always see your nose. Always. Your brain just ignores it, but now you can't.

:^)

Is there a way to block a specific comic on Lemmy? There's too much of this one for my personal taste. (I'd like to see zero of this one. It's the only one I can't stand.)

[–] mugthol@piefed.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If you're using an app that can filter words, you could add "Mimi" to the list

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I could check. Would be neat if I could do like a regular expression with Mimi #\d: or something.

Thanks for the suggestion!

[–] racketlauncher831@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Imagine the name of the series, or the author is mandatory in the title...

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

That would be great, yeah.

[–] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You could block the OP who posts a lot of it but there are probably some other users that also post it.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I checked their history before and they did post some other comics, but if this continues I might have to make the sacrifice.

[–] popekingjoe@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Baphy is just a silly little guy.

[–] reversedposterior@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Heh I was just going to block the user myself for the same reason but I thought I'd check the comments to see if anyone had any better ideas!

[–] Dhar@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago (3 children)

It's the same user posting all these, just block them like I did.

I can make a community for this comic in particular, but I'm not sure if people actually want a community for it or just are lurkers in this community.

Although you can also just ignore it. There's plenty of political comics I'd block on this community but it's easy to scroll by.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Would you happen to know if the author is female? That might make it less weeby for me, for some reason. That might be sexist of me, come to think of it? I dunno. But that's the cold truth. 🫠

[–] RustyNova@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I have no idea. There's nothing in the author's bio

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Gotcha, thanks for checking anyway. 👍

[–] Azhad@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

All my homies hates Mimi

Silly bot, doesn't know what breathing is.

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I think by saying it, it causes it, and leads everyone to pay attention.

It's like the "don't think about a pink rhinoceros" thing. Saying it makes people do it as a reaction.

About the same brand of humour as "you lost the game" and stuff.

[–] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yep, I don’t get this at all. Is it supposed to be funny somehow? It just seems like a random set of panels. OP, what motivated you to post this?

[–] racketlauncher831@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The author does a bunch of NSFW comic panels. Most of the comics have a NSFW version in his patreon, behind a pay wall, of course. I would answer your question with "to lure horny souls".

[–] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago

Well…I won’t kink shame. Just not my bag, I guess.

“Breathe with me!” - The Prodigy

[–] match@pawb.social 10 points 1 month ago (2 children)

does this actually work on people

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I do breathe manually for 10-15 seconds, so it does work.

[–] Tlaloc_Temporal@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm always breathing manually, so not on me.

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)
[–] Tlaloc_Temporal@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Manually, unfortunately. I'm not a morning person.

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

How do you breathe in your sleep

[–] Tlaloc_Temporal@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Well, I'm being cheeky with the phrasing here. When I say I'm breathing manually, I mean I'm much more in tune with my autonomic breathing than most people seem to be. I am very aware of my autonomic breathing, and silde in and out of actively controlling it easier than talking.

Some people seem to experience autonomic breathing like an automatic transmission, and sometimes they shift into manual mode. My breathing feels more like an electric bike, where I can pedal along, rest my legs, or take over without changing anything. A car suddenly shifted into manual gear is more disruptive and complex to deal with than a bike battery being turned off. I was pedaling already!

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

You have an itchy spot somewhere in your body btw. Just letting you know.
