Accountability…not negotiable?

sigh

While at face value this person seems to make an honest plea, it’s just the same old thing. They don’t care until it affects them. Trump has made every effort to dismantle accountability and oversight, particularly in reference to anything he is setting in motion personally, since his first administration. Accountability is a weapon applied to his opponents and critics with made-up charges. Anyone who has been paying attention knows this.

Just another person agreeing with “everything Trump does” that harms others or advances personal interest while ignoring what Trump actually does unless it affects their special interest.

I'm impressed honestly; seems to be a rare case of a republican voter thinking of people outside their immediate family. way too late to start, but doing it nonetheless.

only because the victims were white.

she doesn't give a fuck about all the immigrant minors trump "lost". or all the children fighting for water and eating maggots in America's Auschwitz.

could be but the bar is so low she cleared it by not digging

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The bar is so long it no longer is a tripping hazard, burying the bar is the only infrastructure investment we have

[–] FollyDolly@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The bar is already in hell, and here they are limbo dancing with the devil. Fuck 'em.

don't worry, soon it'll reach the center of the earth and then it'll start raising again in the other side.

unless the earth is flat, maybe that's why they want it to be flat

Yeah, I have nothing but applause for people like this. The hardest part of leaving a cult is being ostracized by your former peers and the mockery from the outside, leaving you with no social circle, which human beings are hard wired to avoid at nearly any cost.

Exactly this, we need to be open to people who start to question their conservative views. Ultimately, they are the people who could tip the balance by moving away from the right.

Man. If only there was some way to know before he became president. The second time.

Donald Trump: Spends every waking minute of his life being a huge piece of shit to basically everyone he crosses paths with

MAGA: Surprised Pikachu Face "I'm starting to think there's a small chance that Donald Trump might actually not care about me. No that can't be it. He's totally going to follow through on his promise to deliver unicorns and fairy dust any minute now."

[–] rayyy@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

MAGA Morons And Genuine Assholes

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 42 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He never promised that, though. He promised to rid the land of gnomes, an under appreciated linchpin species. He also promised to reveal who has been pissing in the town well. By doing that, the unicorns and fairy dust would return naturally.

What he didn't mention was that aggressive deforestation had killed all the unicorns and fairies. And even if they did come back, they'd be shot on sight because an endangered species would halt the deforestation and that's currently profitable. Once the wildfires take out the rest of the enchanted forest, the townspeople will likely die in agony with their dignity stripped away, but that'll be profitable, too, if they can convince enough people that their support will put them on the survivor's side!

[–] wolfyvegan@slrpnk.net 2 points 5 days ago

...

...This comment is far too real. This should be some dystopian horror story, not what's actually happening all around me. I don't know if anyone reading this has ever been curled up in bed at night listening to the chainsaws destroying the forest on all sides, or awoken to the smell of smoke and wondered if today would be the end, or watched a faerie die and not been able to do anything, but it SUCKS. If people don't change their ways and put a stop to deforestation very soon, there may not be any enchanted forests left. And a world without faeries would not be a pleasant place.

"But he told me I'm special. 🥺"

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It wasn't even a campaign of caring about others. Like the first stupid 4 years, it was about hurting the "right" people. And they don't see themselves as the ones who could be hurt, until it's too late.

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 19 points 1 week ago (2 children)

if you understand the world to be necessarily a zero sum game, you think the only way to win is eliminate everyone else at the table. these deluded fools are so certain it's a zero sum game they can't fathom that this isn't our goal, too. meanwhile, the left's proposed solution is to step away from the table. to stop playing. to distribute all the chips in the pot to everyone

Unfortunately, we've got a national media landscape that is absolutely choked with reactionary messaging and fascist propaganda.

I can't really blame a woman way out in West Texas - absolutely swimming in the slurry of AM Radio and right-wing press and arch-conservative religious institutions and social circles - who comes of age thinking that the "Pro-Life Party" actually gives a shit about the lives of young children while the "Far Left Socialist Party" wants to feed your innocent white babies into a Chinese Muslim wood chipper.

Probably doesn't help when the liberal party that ostensibly represents the state's enfranchised opposition spends half their time insisting "Actually yes! Immigration and tax cuts and oil drilling and Israel are the things that matter most! Those conservatives are just doing it incorrectly. They should govern more like Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom!"

I'm dreading going into 2026, when the national big topic of conversation is going to be whether George Soros paid ISIS illegal immigrants to install the windmills that caused West Texas 9/11.

That's very big of you, but I'm just going to blame her twice as hard.

I voted for everything you are doing.

To hit the nail so perfectly on the head and still not get it…

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I know it flies in the face of this subs reason to exist but these people will still vote for him.

Despite their whinging when an election comes around they will be reminded about what ever wedge issue got them out last time and go vote Republican.

These people are entirely capable of being shocked Pikachu and voting for that at the same time.

i voted for everything you are doing!

That's right, you did. Including this. Put on the big girl pants and own your fuckup, but know you won't be forgiven. Ever.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 39 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There is a path to redemption, but she's not on it.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (5 children)

The path to redemption starts in Nuremberg

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There was that one lady who was present at the Capitol on J6 (I think she was arrested and convicted?) who has since publicly recognized her error, and (as I recall) refused the blanket pardon, because she admits that what went on there was criminal.

That lady is fine by me. She is the singular example of someone actually on the path to redemption that I am aware of.

Sir, I voted for you (twice) thinking you were a good person even though I heard about you sexually harassing women, exploiting laborers, running failing businesses, killed people during the pandemic, took away medicare and medicaid for millions of people, delaying FEMA relief funds to both blue and red states, trying to take away social security, deporting working class immigrants, building literal concentration camps and calling it Alligator Alcatraz, deporting people to a notorious prison in another country, suspected allies with Putin, literally got impeached twice for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress and incitement of insurrection...

But I believe you're still a good person

I'm fucking sick of these people. The list goes on and on. Every day of my life during Trump's two terms in office I hear one fuck up after the next and literal no positives. A broken Clock is right twice a day, this oompa loompa had 8 fucking years and can't do anything right. How these leaded gasoline drinking lunatics vote for this man time and time again I don't even know. Fucking guy is the definition of a fascist and lawyers jump in every week watching him fuck stuff up.

[–] makyo@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Grab them by the pussy was basically day one. We've known that's who he is, from his own words, for ten years now and still people are surprised when stuff like this happens. It's hard to fathom.

Golly all that bullshit propaganda I ate and forced on my children is so different from what’s actually happening. It’s just so confusing I’m sure the liberals did it.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 35 points 1 week ago (2 children)

"Please reconsider, sir."

God these people are such cucks.

They're so rabidly "American" but they are the biggest pushover losers on the planet letting a felon rapist shit all over them repeatedly. That's pretty decidedly NOT American.

I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to be such a loser and I simply can't wrap my mind around it.

[–] Pilferjinx@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

I'm baffled that they truly believe Trump cares about them. Has there ever been an honest pro-worker president? JFK maybe?

You mean the guy that publicly bragged that owning the Miss Teen USA pageant allowed him to go backstage and ogle naked underage girls is hiding the Epstein list? You don't say.

[–] 13igTyme@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago

"I voted for everything you are doing."

So then you are in agreement with him.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago

Golly, I can’t believe the self-admitted sex offender doesn’t care about sex crimes!

[–] notsosure@sh.itjust.works 27 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Never regarded Trump as the voice for ANY victim. He doesn’t care about other people, unless it’s family.

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I’m not convinced he even cares about his family.

If she's talking about epstein, I wonder what she'll think when she finds out he was one of the perpetrators. Ya know, with all of those pictures of them together, she might have gotten a clue. His name was even on the notepad at the residence where it all happened in miami.

[–] 60d@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 week ago

We investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing. Move along, citizen.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago

Does anyone else literally gag at the term "sir" in this context?

[–] JTskulk@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Accountability? You want accountability from God? Why do you think you know better than God who absolutely needed to wash those people away?
