Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

XAVIER RENEGADE ANGEL REFERENCE!!!!! That show is my problematic fave.

Extremely problematic, but the whole postal 2 zeitgeist of American internet humour where everything was colored with poop and islamophobia barely disguised as "political commentary" was once in a lifetime.

Great show to watch while not sober.

I was always impressed how they managed to make so many creative jokes in such a short amount of time. It has this stream of consciousness quality that makes it hard to predict the jokes, and they trust the audience enough to pick up on the jokes that they don't ruin them by shoving them in your face. One of my favorite jokes the show does is from the first episode where Xavier says to himself that he needs to write something down, so he pulls out a notebook and literally writes "Write that down" in it.

The show also has this weird dissonance between sometimes having simultaneously really progressive themes and really reactionary themes/bits.

One episode that comes to mind is when Xavier is bought by an oil tycoon as a pet for the tycoon's bratty son. On the one hand, it hammers home how the rich are completely disconnected from humanity because they never have to suffer like the rest of us, and even when they do see the suffering they cause, they'll still put profits over people but with a progressive facade. On the other hand, it has a bunch of wildly racist anti-indigenous stereotypes (the tycoon opens an indigenous casino which he is allowed to run because he keeps injecting blood from Indian cemeteries to maintain the appropriate blood quantum), and has a wildly islamophobic bit at the end.

Another episode that comes to mind is the one where Xavier tries to be normal. The message of the episode -- that twisting yourself into something you're not just to fit in -- is a genuinely progressive one. At the same time, part of the episode involves the strangest performance of blackface I've ever seen.
