Fuck Trucks ๐Ÿ–•

American pickup trucks; those gaudy, humungous, unnecessary, pedestrian-killing, environment destroyers. Fuck people who own these to feel "tough" and compensate.

That's a specialized truck for carrying a bunch of people while towing a trailer. I see these in use by lawn mowing crews.

As someone else pointed out, probably a whole work team shared this truck to grab cheap lunch sandwiches from the grocery deli.

It's way too dirty to be a vanity truck or a limo.

Some people suggested a bus would just as well, but buses generally don't have four wheel drive.

Regarding the bus, I have seen 12 passenger Vans for this same use - moving a big work crew.

But this truck can tow a long trailer full of equipment while also carrying a whole work crew.

This is.... wow. There's commercial versions of this, for example F650s come stock with longboxes and are a fairly practical work vehicle (situationaly), but those are commercial vehicles. This looks like someone slapped a longbox conversion kit on their fullsize dualie ram frame, added a lift kit and... that's it? There's no way they got a properly sized driveshaft they must just be using an extender, I seriously doubt they upgraded the brakes to handle the added weight and they visibly didn't reinforce the frame to handle the additional stresses such a long wheelbase adds. God, it's everything wrong with limo conversions but 22" higher off the ground. Fucking thing is probably still a personal vehicle too, I think you can even stick a 5th wheel plate on it without having to register, the rules for what makes a vehicle require a commercial license are just ridiculous. Fuck truck culture, I'm so sorry canada.

how many gallons per miles?

I actually love this. That truck is stupid and hilarious, and sometimes it's just plain fun to have something overly ridiculous and useless. Someone put a lot of time and effort to make this useless monstrosity to whom I bet it brings them loads of amusement, and I appreciate it. A+ carry on.

Someone making one of these things is novel, funny, and awesome. A company mass producing these to sell to people would be a terrible, awful idea, and would not be fun at all.

This truck is not The Problem, it's the mass produced oversized beasts that clog the roads with not only their size, but also their numbers.

The truth is somewhere in between:

https://old.reddit.com/r/WeirdWheels/comments/gyfphc/stretched_ram_mega_cab_long_bed/

That's a mod shops widely offer. Here in Texas, I see billboards advertising similar things all the time. Though 3 cab is pretty extreme.

So... its not OEM Dodge. I'm all for car customization, there needs to be more of that. I'd be with you if this mod was unique/novel, but it's really not because its so common and commercialzied.

Now, on the other hand, I have a cousin in law that turned a military surplus truck into an RV, and can probably run over this thing. That is cool as hell.

Ugh, that kinda ruins it tbh.

Ugh, that's lame. That kinda takes the fun out of it a bit.

I laugh at stupidity like this.

This is a useless vehicle because you can't do anything with it but impress dumb morons. You can only use it rural countryside, malls or big parking lots or a trailer park .... you can drive it on a main street downtown somewhere but you can't stop because you can't park it anywhere or turn to move it anywhere.

So on looking closer it's got an articulated trailer hitch sticking out, which means this is probably a legit work truck and the crew is picking up lunch supplies before going back out to the site from the hotel. Nobody's offroading in this, esp with a trailer, it just isn't capable of doing anything except haul crew + tools down three hours of barely maintained resource roads. It's way way too unwieldy to have fun in.

That said this also screams conversion so like... no, thing's a deathtrap. It'll twist into a damn pretzel on anything more than a medium pothole. Stay awaaaay.

I can't even imagine such a tiny wiener

That cab is so extended that it needs middle wheels. The first time it's holding steel or a really fat person in the back, that thing's going to buckle.

[โ€“] RipLemmDotEE 6 points 1 week ago

By your logic, every stretched limo ever made just snaps in half as soon as a fat person climbs in.
