This article is just people discovering bikes or something. Of course bikes are faster during rush hour in busy traffic in a decently laid out city. How he let her suffer through a 45 minute bus ride before realising bikes exist is beyond me.
micromobility - Bikes, scooters, boards: Whatever floats your goat, this is micromobility
Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles, heelies, or an office chair: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!
"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.
micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:
Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.
Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.
Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
Better late than never! Most of the time my ride is a Priority Folder (no motor) but I don't fault anyone who takes an e-bike.
“I got my wife an electric bike that’s faster than cars. Here’s why: she’s been getting on my nerves for a very long time and I think life owes me a clean break “.
That thing isn't going 80, nor would you want it to.
There’s a video from Ryan Fortnine that goes into detail on why s-pedelec poles are a death trap. Worth watching. Just FYI, he talks about those bikes that go 45km/h.
Do people really fold their folding bikes up like, every time they use one? The Radcity one my spouse uses is a huge PITA to fold up, and it's barely more portable than a small electric bike.
Depends on the bike, but Brompton riders do it a lot.
On mine, I usually just fold down the handlebars and stick them under my desk.
I used to work with a person who did. They didn't want the bike stolen, so they'd fold it up and stick it under their desk.
Probably only bromptan riders. Mine, and every other I've seen (that are not a bromptan) are a right, royal pita to fold and unfold

It's not a motorbike though, that's the point. The article talks about 250 watt 25kph/15mph pedelec. The misleading title just wants you to assume the opposite.
15mph is certainly reasonable, and not "as fast as a car." A parked car, maybe, which in city traffic may feel the same.
But yeah, 15 is reasonable; humans can run that fast. Sharing a bike lane with a motorized bike going 25 is where it starts feeling dangerous, and where it starts to be in car range.
Thanks for pointing that out.
faster than cars
Real talk: Is this why some people are up in arms against bike lanes? That they're seen as some kind of express lane, where people spend far less than luxury vehicle owners to get around?
Moral envy is a real thing as well. It also makes sense with why so many people also hate vegans irrationally.
