Dull Men's Club

An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.

https://dullmensclub.com/

1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

They’re fine. If you like them, great. If you don’t, also great. If you’re indifferent, thirdly great.

I've read the name "labubu" a bunch but don't think I even know what they are. I'll remain complacent in my ignorance

I just assumed it was a dog breed. I looked it up, but I'll let you keep your ignorance should you so choose. Ignoring them seems the easiest and best thing to do anyway, as OP basically suggests

You're missing absolutely nothing if you ignore them. My seven year old niece is crazy about them. Which is fine to be at her age.

I have no idea what they are, but everytime someone mentions them, that person is being super emotional

I guess I'm just glad to be under the rock on this one

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

If you're over 13, this sort of thing is entirely irrelevant.

[–] abbadon420@sh.itjust.works 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

If you're over 30, it's basically the new furby.

[–] Kyouki@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

Oh, thanks.

This is the first I've heard of them. They're just... Toys?

[–] beejboytyson@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago (1 children)

[–] snoons@lemmy.ca 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

They look like Where the Wild Things Are + Capitalism

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Is the capitalism where the crotch design came from?

Seam in the crotch looks like a slit.

Just letting it air out!

[–] Lembot_0004@discuss.online 14 points 5 days ago (1 children)

That's a standard reaction of a psychically stable human on any vogue-related thing, isn't it?

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago

Could be. Don't want to prejudice anyone's investigation into the matter.

Was just going to bring those up. People don’t remember how crazy everyone got over beanie babies back in the day

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I plead ignorance. Fourthly great?

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 2 points 5 days ago

Just a new toy. Like Funko Pop figures. Just a little toy that has various colors and stuff.

[–] kat_angstrom@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

Like anything that's popular because it's popular, I am indifferent

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

First I've heard of them, and I guess I should be glad.

[–] peregrin5@piefed.social 4 points 5 days ago

what if i have sex with them?

[–] Aeri@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

I just think they're hideous and gross looking.

[–] Akasazh@feddit.nl 1 points 5 days ago

Why feel the need to talk about them?

I was pretty ok not knowing about them
