After noticing the debuff, I got in contact with a level 56 healer and he said there is no way to remove or even weaken it. Other players with this debuff usually run out of max HP in a couple years. They can still log in, but there's not much point because the debuff drains their STR and DEX so much they can't even defeat a level 1 crab anymore.

Why did the devs add random debuffs to the game that make your character unplayable? Don't they want players to keep logging in? I could understand if my character got hit by a hex from a high-level warlock in PvP, but completely random debuffs?

Are there any high-level priests here who know whether we get sent back to the character creation screen when our character runs out of HP? I never understood why this game only has one character slot. I could just switch to an alt. Hopefully I'll be able to play a better game next time, because let's face it: this one isn't that fun.

The devs abandoned this game a long time ago. There are tons of bugs that are now permanent features of the game, simply because no one cares to come back and patch them out.

I'm sorry you happened to come across one such "feature." Hopefully you'll have a better playthrough next time, if you return to the game.

The game was vibe coded by an ai that was itself vibe coded by an ai all the way back to one that was trained on sensor noise. It’d be a miracle that it works at all but when you look at how many failed builds there are it makes sense.

Christ just hearing about some of the old versions boggles the mind.

Like what were the devs smoking with that patch where they went 'fkit, 50% of the map is ice fields a mile tall, where the not-even-a-boss mobs are double your size or four times your stat level, and the other 50% is either verdant jungle or arboreal forests where gank predators are literally in the trees waiting to crit both eye sockets with their canines and open your head like a tin of beans.' absolute hog wild shit

(Genuine testament to the playerbase that they levelled enough to build multiplayer bases and sculpt the totems to reach endgame)

i am fully prepared to delete my character if it doesn't pan out the way i want it to. i fucked around for over 30 levels trying to play nice but now that I've hit the 40th I'm through with the bullshit. if it's not fun it's not worth playing. simple as.

Nice to meet a fellow level 40!

I've felt this game isn't worth playing since level 16, so I can't say I mind my character's debuff that much. But it's funny — now that my time with the game is waning, I almost want to keep playing for some reason. Just to see what silly stuff happens. I never thought I'd feel that way.

There's a few guides out there for speedrunning between some of the top tier map zones and events, always worth seeing how much mileage you can get out of a character before the reset, I say speedrunning, but there's no need to rush events, especially since there's always that bit of silliness to be found if you look

You can't just wait around for the game to get fun on its own. You have to find and play the minigames you like and do things with other players--thats what makes the game fun.

you think i don't fucking know that. hilarious. no. it's painfully clear the pay to win rigging makes it so almost every so-called "progression system" is a dead end. i have my build charted out, i know what the prerequisites are, and where the quest flags trigger. what I'm SAYING IS, if it glitches again and FUCKS ME OUT OF WHAT I GRINDED FOR, I'm pulling the plug and closing my account.

the devs don't deserve support if the only updates they bring to the game make it LESS PLAYABLE. it's already notoriously well known that the entire first eighteen level tutorial arc has had ABSOLUTELY NO BEARING ON ACTUAL IN-GAME SYSTEMS anymore. people who spent their entire run specializing their role arrive at the survival stage only to discover every FUCKING SKILL they trained is useless and deprecated.

exactly what the FUCK is someone supposed to do with their mandatory ranks in "cursive writing"? All that training time wasted when it could have been more effectively used on introducing the currency management mini games that, OOPSIE DAISY, TURN OUT TO BE IMPOSSIBLE TO SURVIVE WITHOUT and players just get fucking DROPPED into the deep end with hardly any warning.

this game fucking sucks and frankly I'm only still here because there's still a chance i can help my guildmates. but if unprecedented changes to abstract faction rules come out of NOWHERE to make it impossible for me to contribute, I'm not going to waste my time anymore.

You think i dont know that?

Yeah, i do. And the rest of your comment didn't change my mind. lmao

You can be a miserable, sad sack of shit if you want to, but were all in the same boat dealing with the same bullshit.

I said you have to find/make it yourself and you commented a bunch of shit you have no control over.

When's the last time you even went on a bike ride and laughed with a stranger?
That's what makes life worth living, not having valuable and in-demand skills.

Now put down your thousand dollar misery machine and join us outside where we're touching grass and laughing at penis-shaped clouds.

PS. i hope you're just having a rough go of it atm and don't actually feel this way all the time, if so you shoild consider talking to someone about it.

As a lvl 27 rock mage, I find this debuff so uncharacteristic it calls into question the game designers views on fair system balancing in the beginning. Regardless I find that the 🍄🥬 items gives a good multi game experience for the time each of us characters have.

The game is challenging. It's up to you to find the fun in these challenges or around them.

[–] Supervisor194@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

It's a strange game. You respawn, but you can't carry anything over from your previous session. I think it's a fun time-waster but you have to try to not take it too seriously. The game loaded for you this time and it will do it again, starting from level 1 just like always.

What else are you going to do? Quit to desktop and go outside? No thanks.

[–] Lumisal@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

It's their patch to nerf a player that wrote have been insanely op.

I don't think it's balanced well, but it's not the best coding

The servers are probably going down soon anyway so make the best of it. Debuff or not, this game isn't lasting forever. Join a guild, visit zones that not many people go to, or work on your crafting profession. I'm having fun clearing old content with my little guild.
